On #InternationalWomensDay, we celebrate the strength and vision of the women who lead the way — those who have faced challenges head-on, turned personal struggles into purpose, and continue to inspire change. The story of?Genuity?is rooted in one woman’s deeply personal story. After years of struggling with mysterious symptoms that no one could diagnose, she found herself navigating the complexities of the healthcare system alone. Her search for answers eventually led her into the healthcare field, where she gained the tools to self-diagnose. After six long months of waiting, she finally held the envelope with her test results — she had answers at last. But more than that, she believed those answers could connect her with others who had faced similar challenges. She imagined a community where people could improve patients' lives together. But as she looked around, she realized no such space existed — especially one that respected patient privacy. Even people living in the same neighborhood, seeing the same doctor, might never know they shared the same journey. Determined to change this, she turned to friends who shared her vision. Together, they founded?Genuity. The team talked to hundreds of patients and worked hard to create a safe space where everyone could connect and learn. They navigated complex healthcare regulations like HIPAA and sought advice from top entrepreneurs in Silicon Valley and at Stanford. A diagnosis of a rare disease like stiff person syndrome represents one of the most challenging medical scenarios due to the limited number of patients, insufficient research, challenging traditional approval pathways and relying on old science when precision treatments are available. ?
