    ?? Email is the silent profit killer and energy buster. ???? Nobody tells me that complex client work is their biggest problem. It’s email. We used to “juggle” email. Now, people use words like drowning, failing, and suffering. ?? Ironically, the thing designed to ensure “nothing’s missed” has worsened everything. Carbon copying everyone to “keep them in the loop” doesn’t help. It overloads inboxes. It hides real priorities. It steals time. Let’s stop it. ?? Most people can’t read their emails every day and do the work. Don’t be part of the problem. Before you hit send, ask: ?? Does every person on this thread truly need this message? ?? Would it matter if they missed it or didn't respond? If the answer is no… don’t send it. There are better tools to memorialize work inside a project plan or communicate important information. Do you and your team torture—I mean cc—each other? Can you change that habit on a few clients or topics? Try it. See what happens. You might unlock hours of actual work time. Your clients didn’t hire you to process emails. Clients hire you to be led.? ?? TIP: In Outlook, you can create a rule that moves any email where you’re not the ONLY person on the “To” line to a separate folder. Prioritize the ones meant for you. ??     "EveryFirm is much better than my last broker. They're much, much busier." ?? Clients don't hire you to attend meetings, process emails, or operate in a frenzy. In other words, they're not impressed that you're busy. They need problems solved, and that's an issue because most firms lack the people to do the work. Although benchmarks indicate teams "should" be able to manage more clients, they feel stretched and at a breaking point. One key skill we develop is the ability to admit that one can always work more effectively and find ways to say yes to additional opportunities. Listen to this three-minute video in which I kick off the conversation and provide three steps for tackling this dilemma. Our Finding Time To Do The Work module has moved from the end of the three-month Account Manager Academy to the beginning. Last year's graduates told us this was so impactful and practical that it needed to be integrated into the earliest part of the program. ?
