After many weeks of prep, the day of presenting at Innovation Network Gathering has come and passed! This was my first year presenting & attending. This opportunity was provided to me due to Ryan B. and since she recommended it, I knew it had to be a good!
The organizers, Michelle Jones, Ph.D. & Jeff Smith created an unique conference that is capped at ~150 attendees. They do this to keep things intimate and to allow for greater discourse in the deep dive sessions.
My talk focused on the need to transform pharma & vendor relationships from being transactional to being a true partnership. I also highlighted that vendors should not be leveraged to only rescue trials but to be leveraged as a strategic thought leader that is brought in as soon as the compound has been identified. The talk is not available just yet BUT some pictures are!
In addition to my talk, I had the opportunity to hear from other speakers such as:
Laura Hilty | She discussed why great ideas fail and provided a framework to ensure success
Tala Fakhouri | She covered a 5 step process to ensure that AI & regulation are in lock step to drive innovation in an equitable way
Britt Gottschalk MBA, MIO | Served as a WHALE TANK finalist who showcased her company Geno.Me which gives power to the people by democratizing their health data for clinical research
Hannah Sieber | Another WHALE TANK finalist who showed the power of her company Artyc whose mission is to improve cold storage and delivery of lab supplies & therapies - the technology was not only reusable but revolutionary due to continuous tracking of shake as well as temp!
Lindsey Wahlstrom-Edwards | She shared her daughter's story & the complications with treatment. She also covered her experience as a rare caregiver which led her to question much of what she thought she knew to be true about her work.
Lisa Moneymaker | She talked how our data is OUR HISTORY and that we must do better with ensuring EVERYONE is included so that we can better train AI - to ensure it is equitable.
Laura O'Donnell | Not only did she do an amazing job discussing how to eliminate friction on the main stage but she also was in my DOUGLASS deep dive team - truly a thought leader in this space!
I also got the chance to mingle with colleagues such as Del Smith, PhD, Kevin Kelly, Rebecca Schelkun, MPH, Bill Hanlon, Brad Hightower and Craig Wozniak. Overall it was a great experience and definitely will be attending next year!
