Today I’m thrilled to announce the appointment of Genovista's new Chief Medical Officer, Dr. Turner Lewis, MD. Genovista, the joint venture between Innovista Health and Genesis Physicians Group, a Dallas-based Independent Practice Association, is fortunate to benefit from Dr. Lewis's decades of experience as a pediatrician and health leader. Consider Dr. Lewis's career: His pediatric primary care practice expanded access to care for underserved groups in rural Texas. He’s been a staunch advocate for Medicaid members and underserved children, lobbying for both groups with the help of the Dallas County Medical Society and Texas Medical Association. He believes screening for social drivers of health is critical for improving outcomes. And Dr. Lewis is an incredibly gifted clinician: He reduced his patients’ asthma-related emergency room admissions by 89% in 2019, demonstrating that value-based care delivers better results at lower costs. Physician leadership at Genovista is critical as the organization helps practices transition to value-based care. With Dr. Lewis as the CMO of Genovista, the physicians who depend on our services can rest assured that they are not alone on the journey to put patients back at the center of care. He knows their pain points firsthand. He also knows how to solve them—and has done so many times.
