The Genesee Theatre is a concert and performing arts venue in Waukegan, Illinois. Opened in 1927, this historic venue hosted vaudevillian theater and movies. Today, the venue has 2,403 seats and one of the largest stages in the Midwest. The Genesee is the premier entertainment venue in Lake County, IL, hosting a variety of acts including comedy, theatre, music, as well as weddings and other private events.

The Genesee had the privilege last week to participate in the Navy Region Mid-Atlantic Fleet and Family Readiness (FFR) Back to School event for Great Lakes families! Our Special Events Manager Tyler and Advertising & PR Coordinator Sydni handed out notebooks that were part of a huge amount of resources gathered for the new school year, and we had the chance to offer tickets to upcoming shows and let people know all about the Genesee! Thank you MWR team and Shell Smith for including us and letting us help you support the families of the Sailors and Navy members here in NE Illinois.
