Generation6 Advisor Anneleen Michiels recently joined host Liesbeth Vandenrijt on the Troonopvolgers Podcast to discuss the unique challenges and opportunities of launching a family office. In this episode, they share how families can make strategic, values-based decisions that create lasting impact for future generations. Read Anneleen's tips below (click on 'translate' to see her post in English) and watch the full podcast (in Dutch) at bit.ly/48MEKWB.
?? Meer weten? "Given how rapidly the environment in which companies operate is changing, past experiences alone no longer suffice to set the right course for the future. What a board needs today to set a successful course for the future is a window to the outside world – and collective intelligence." Generation6 Advisor and Head of Governance Practice, Claudia Binz Astrachan, Ph.D., and colleague Prof. Dr. Lars B. Sonderegger argue that on an ideal board, directors with different levels of experience, backgrounds, and interests form a cohesive team that pulls in the same direction, and that achieves more together than "the sum of their individual parts". Attracting senior-level talent can be challenging for any firm - family enterprises are no exception. But do job-seekers differ in terms of their preference for public vs. family-owned employers? A recent study published in the Journal of Family Business Strategy by Generation6 Advisors Claudia Binz Astrachan, Ph.D. and Massimo Baù, alongside colleagues Ryan Rumble and Annika Ehlers, takes a closer look at senior-level recruitment in family businesses using a sample of over 700 senior-level job seekers in Switzerland. "Our findings suggest that (...) job seekers are motivated by different reward combinations: Pay, Perks, Personas, Pride, which they expect to find in either family or non-family companies. Family firms could benefit from emphasizing these rewards in their recruitment processes, compensation schemes, and employer branding strategies." Read the full research at bit.ly/4gZD5Rf.
