We’re excited to share that Generate was featured as “One to Watch” as part of the Global Good Awards 2024 Global Good Finance Player of the Year list. We’ve received this distinction for the landmark tax equity deal we supported between?esVolta, LP and US Bank, enabling the completion of a 30 MW/60 MWh battery storage project?in Santa Paula, California. The deal will help California’s grid be cleaner, more reliable, and faster. ? The project is one of the first structured tax equity deals taking advantage of the IRA’s tax credits for standalone energy storage, and it will help set the standard for a new and powerful financing model. Special thanks and congratulations to esVolta and to all the Generators who worked to support this deal. ? Learn more about the award: https://lnkd.in/giqD87RR

Generate’s Scott Jacobs spoke on a panel discussing “The Age of Infrastructure” with Irene Mavroyannis, John Rapaport, and Rick Zullo, as part of Equal Ventures’ Climate Capital Summit during #NYCW. We’re always excited to convene with others working towards our common cause and discuss the unparalleled role?of infrastructure in the energy transition. To reach our climate goals and establish a Net Zero economy, we must rebuild our world with sustainable infrastructure.??

The next reflection from Generate’s first 10 years is an essential yet frequently overlooked aspect of the transition to #SustainableInfrastructure: The infrastructure transition must solve real customer problems. In the next installment of Generate’s video series, CEO and co-founder Scott Jacobs spotlights why a successful infrastructure transition relies on understanding the stakeholders, technologies, supply chain, regulators, and end users involved in building the transition asset by asset, and why we designed Generate to connect these dots across the often-siloed sustainability industry landscape. Thank you to all our panelists for a great conversation on Creative Credit Strategies to Build the Transition to Net Zero during #NYCW!
As part of #NYCW, I enjoyed participating in a @Generate-hosted panel discussing Creative Credit Strategies to Build the Transition to Net Zero alongside @Tadeu Carneiro, CEO of @Boston Metal, and @Katie Rae, CEO of @Engine Ventures, and moderated by @Matt Zeitlin of @Heatmap. ? It was a pleasure to learn from others on a topic core to Generate's work. A few of my top takeaways include: ? Financing the transition to sustainable infrastructure is hard. It will require $9 trillion annually, and $8 trillion of that will be dedicated to building physical assets of which we estimate $5.8 trillion will be in credit. Compare this to a global sustainable bank project market estimated to be $830 billion. This is both an enormous opportunity and an enormous challenge -- and we'll need creative solutions to solve it. Creative credit is key to unlocking the transition. While de-risking climate tech with blended finance solutions has long been the focus of many investors, increasingly investors are seeing the value in de-risking these companies and assets through blended finance for credit. Credit investors need climate market expertise. From community solar to on-site power to green steel, there are so many exciting sustainable infrastructure solutions that are protecting the environment while increasing the resilience of the world's population. But these solutions involve many project-specific complexities, and creating and scaling their markets requires investors who understand (a) how to build them; (b) how to finance them; and (c) how to operate them.? ? #NYCW #SustainableInfrastructure

The race to prevent the worst effects of climate change will require unifying all sides of the sustainability landscape — from technology providers to project developers to funders and asset managers. Gathering for #NYCW each year is an opportunity to convene with so many of the people working to make this happen. This year's Climate Week was an especially exciting one for Generate, as we hosted three events throughout the week: ? — Our panel on Tax Equity and the IRA, featuring Generate's Jessie Robbins, Nicholaus List of Ryan, and Andrew Vietze of Pine Gate Renewables, and moderated by Pippa Stevens of CNBC. ? — Our panel on Creative Credit Strategies to Build the Transition to Net Zero, featuring Generate's William Sonneborn, Tadeu Carneiro of Boston Metal, and Katie Rae of Engine Ventures, and moderated by Matthew Zeitlin of Heatmap News. ? — Our 10-year anniversary party, where we celebrated a decade of advancing #SustainableInfrastructure with our partners, investors, colleagues, and friends. ? We're very grateful for all those working together to develop and scale the technology, provide the capital, and build the projects needed to rebuild the world.?

Ten years of proving that sustainability wins. ? Earlier this week, we celebrated Generate's 10-year anniversary alongside many of the partners, investors, colleagues, and friends who have supported us for the last decade. ? These last 10 years have been a testament to the impact that providing bespoke capital solutions and solving real customer problems can have on the infrastructure transition. ? As we look ahead to the next 10 years, we are excited to continue expanding our platform and mobilizing human and financial capital at a bigger scale to help rebuild the world. ? #NYCW?#SustainableInfrastructure

Generate was thrilled to convene an expert panel to discuss Tax Equity and the IRA during #NYCW!
My #NYCW was a short one - on the train home reflecting on an exciting discussion yesterday on "Tax Equity & the IRA" hosted by Pippa Stevens and featuring Nicholaus List of Ryan and Andrew Vietze of Pine Gate Renewables My key takeaways - - We don't need new policy support. We need to digest the provisions we already have and improve upon what's there via implementation. - Transferability is transforming renewable energy financing, but it sure isn't making it simpler. - We are likely entering a new phase of this post-IRA landscape, as (i) domestic manufacturing really starts to ramp, (ii) we transition to tech-neutral 45Y and 48E, and (iii) hybrid transferability structures begin to take root. We're excited by what's on the horizon and look forward to continuing our work with great partners to deploy sustainable infra solutions!
