The Women in Sailing project, promoted by Generali and Barcolana, aims to foster gender equality, ensuring that in all sailing competitions the number of women on board in decision-making roles increases. ?? This month, we had the opportunity to present the project at two major international events: The first took place on 12 November, when Generali, together with Barcolana, took centre stage at the World Sailing Development Symposium 2024, held this year at the Suntec Convention Centre in Singapore, promoting the concepts of inclusivity and evolution. The second was on 21 November at the Yacht Racing Forum, held this year within the METSTRADE in Amsterdam, where we participated alongside Barcolana in a panel dedicated to race management and best practices for developing events with a focus on sustainability and inclusivity. These events our shared commitment to creating a more inclusive and sustainable future for sailing, both on and off the water. #WorldSailingAwards #WomenInSailing #Barcolana56

???From 18 to 20 November, Generali participated in the #SMEAssembly2024 in Budapest, the main event of #EUSMEWeek, organised by the European Commission to bolster entrepreneurship across the EU and address topics crucial to today’s business landscape, with climate adaptation at the forefront. ? Extreme weather increasingly disrupts Europe, incurring substantial economic losses (EUR 650 billion from 1980 to 2022). Small businesses, the backbone of the EU economy, are particularly vulnerable, with a larger protection gap to be compensated. The first European Climate Risk Assessment underscores the urgency: climate risks are accelerating, with several deemed critical. Projections indicate that extreme weather events may worsen, potentially challenging the EU’s resilience-building efforts through 2030. ? Ferenc Sinkó, Head of the SME, Commercial & Corporate Business Unit Hungary & CEE Head of Client & Broker Relationship Management of Generali Global Corporate & Commercial represented Generali at the event in Budapest, shared our Group’s commitment to supporting MSMEs in their climate resilience journey. ? Through our flagship initiative #SMEEnterprize and recent initiatives such as the “Parametric Insurance to build financial resilience” joint report developed with UNDP IRFF we firmly believe in the importance of more public-private collaboration, incentivising NatCat insurance and re-evaluating urban zoning in flood-prone areas are essential steps forward. ? At Generali, we remain dedicated to building a sustainable future for European MSMEs, tackling climate risks head-on and supporting responsible business practices in the face of an evolving climate reality?? ? #Generali4sustainability #ProtectTheFuture #ClimateAction Promoting Enterprise

Generali has embarked on an exciting new journey to develop innovative social products aimed at supporting vulnerable people in our society, with the support of The Human Safety Net. The inaugural moment took place at The Home of The Human Safety Net in Venice, with a 24 hour hackathon. We brought together product developers, experts, and NGO partners from Serbia, Italy, Malaysia, and France. This intense and inspiring event involved 39 participants who worked together to design social product solutions for THSN targets with the ambition to be launched in 2025. The solutions - centred around employment, education, and healthcare - were judged by some of our top managers: Giulio Terzariol, Simone Bemporad, Monica Alessandra Possa, Lucia Silva, David Cis and Emma Ursich as panel member gave their feedback to the participants in order to fine-tune their product ideas. We can't wait to see what comes next!
