The future of shipbuilding is here! Advanced manufacturing tools, especially Collaborative Robots (CoBots), are crucial for the US Navy to maintain its leadership. Unlike traditional automation, CoBots enhance worker productivity in various tasks like welding, assembly, and quality control. We are excited to announce the Shipbuilding COBOT Alliance (SCA)! SCA will equip graduates with hands-on training in shipbuilding-specific CoBot applications, ensuring they hit the ground running. By embracing this technology, we can bridge the skills gap and drive innovation in our shipyards. This means registration is still open, and you can get your complex manufacturing questions answered by a talented group of senior engineering students on our new date: ?? March 17th, 2025 ?2:00pm - 4:00pm ??5115 Hampton Boulevard, Norfolk (Kaufman Hall) This informative Open House will include presentations by the ODU Engineering Department’s faculty and staff as well as presentations by Senior Design Capstone teams offering insight into their experiences and projects.
