At GeneCapture, Inc., we've reinvented pathogen detection. We can now identify hundreds of pathogens in an hour for under $20 with a portable reader than can go anywhere. Sample In | Answer Out | Fast #pathology #infectiousdiseases #innovation #breakthroughs
关于我们
Detecting Pathogens Takes Too Long Our patented CAPTURE (Confirm Active Pathogens Through Unamplified RNA Expression) technology solves this problem, and we are now developing a portable instrument to screen for hundreds of pathogens within an hour for less than $20. GeneCapture's unique approach to disease diagnostics uses rapid RNA-based technology to bring infection detection to the Point of Care; whether that’s a hospital bed, an airport, a cruise ship, or a battlefield.

Fungal infections are on the rise worldwide. Species of the genus Candida can cause slow wound healing and invasive Candidiasis which spreads through the bloodstream and around the body, leading to hundreds of thousands of deaths each year. Fungal infections are particularly hard to treat due limited numbers of anti-fungal treatments, and a long time to results for traditional culture testing. GeneCapture has tested its rapid sample-to-answer antimicrobial susceptibility testing (AST) assay on Candida spp. to three different antifungals with clear results within 5 hours of growth. Data shows a 97% agreement to standard culture methods to-date. Same day and on-sight fungal pathogen detection and AST will drastically improve treatment outcomes for patients in hospitals and the military alike.

Congratulations to GeneCapture’s AST team! We are committed to mitigating Antimicrobial Resistance. After investing several years of R&D to developing our portable Antimicrobial Susceptibility Test (AST), GeneCapture has recently focused on UTIs, and today we report a dataset of 295 bug/drug combinations with a 93.2% agreement to standard culture methods (exceeds FDA agreement requirements). This portable unique rapid test is being developed to run on a fully automated instrument and cartridge system in under two hours, allowing same-day accurate treatment for UTI patients. We are continuing to grow this data with support from advisors, local doctors and laboratories, and our incredible team here at GeneCapture. Antimicrobial resistant infections are set to kill more than 39 million people in the next 25 years. Knowing that your antibiotic is effective BEFORE you start treatment gives us an edge on antimicrobial resistance and can cut those numbers down. GeneCapture is developing a rapid, point-of-need, antimicrobial susceptibility test that can determine the right antibiotic for a patient within a few hours. https://lnkd.in/e93w7vy7

New study shows that screening for invasive fungal diseases - the types taking over hospitals and infecting patients - could help prevent disease spread. Rapid screening tools like rapid, point-of-care diagnostics are essential! https://lnkd.in/gd2e2eJV
