?? Mark your calendars! On March 3, 2025, at 11:00 AM PT, GenBio AI will host a seminar titled "How Molecules Impact Cells: Unlocking Contrastive PhenoMolecular Retrieval" by Philip Fradkin. In this session, Phil will present work on one of the major challenges in therapeutic design: predicting how different molecules affect cellular behavior. He will discuss how phenomic (cell-painting) techniques, combined with contrastive learning, can connect molecular structures to the physical changes they induce in cells. Developed while at Recursion and Valence labs, this seminar will introduce MolPhenix: a multi-modal molecular-phenomics model that significantly improves retrieval of active molecules. By aligning cellular imaging data with molecular representations, MolPhenix shows great promise for accelerating drug discovery and for deepening our understanding of how chemicals shape cellular function. ??Video explainer? https://lnkd.in/gesBANPk? ??Link to paper: https://lnkd.in/eD-XYwq4? ?? We're live in 3 hours! Philip Fradkin is a phenomenal researcher and I'm excited to host him as GenBio AI's first FM4Bio seminar speaker. Phil will do a deep dive on his recent MolPhenix work which improved more than 8x over the previous SOTA for predicting how cells respond to therapeutics by using pre-trained models. Tons of insights for multi-modal learning, perturbation modeling, model design, and algorithmic ML. I'll be giving Phil your questions live and asking some of my own. Come learn with us!
