Happy #FlexFriday. #Flex those mind muscles. It’s been one of those weeks packed, productive, and maybe even a little chaotic. But that’s precisely why FlexFriday matters. Now, let’s clear something up right away: FlexFriday isn’t about remote work. It’s not about working from home, being in the office, or managing hybrid schedules. It’s not a corporate policy etched into stone. It’s a guideline, offering a gentle invitation for professionals like you to reclaim a few hours of creative freedom after your regular work is done. Here’s how it works: If you have completed your responsibilities for the week and not just tucked them away, you are free to spend the rest of your Friday afternoon working on a project that inspires you. This pet project could be something related to your field, a topic you are curious about, or an idea you have jotted down in a notebook for months. You chose what to work on, how to approach it, and when to share the outcome with your team. Sounds simple, right? But behind that simplicity is #trust. FlexFriday only works because we treat you like the responsible professional you are. The company is not clock-watching or micromanaging. We’re saying: You decide when your week’s work is complete. You hold the key to that freedom. Let’s be honest: this freedom comes with boundaries. If your team is working hard to meet a deadline on Friday and you leave to pursue a personal passion project, that is not FlexFriday; that is irresponsible. If no urgent tasks require a response before Monday, it’s an excellent opportunity for FlexFriday. The sweet spot lives in between. And we #trust you to know the difference. Most importantly, you are doing it wrong if you are not having fun during FlexFriday. This time is meant to energize you, spark new ideas, and reconnect you with what you love about your work in the first place. To help create a vibrant atmosphere, the company will inspire your creativity by providing a rotating selection of coffee, tea, and unique sweet treats each week. It could include chocolate chip shortbread, gourmet donuts, homemade cupcakes, or matcha mochi. Whatever the treat may be, it’s not just a sugary indulgence; it’s an opportunity to pause, gather, laugh, share ideas, and mingle. FlexFriday isn’t just about solo inspiration; it’s about the quiet magic that occurs when we come together, even briefly, to share what excites us. With a warm drink in one hand and a spark of curiosity in the other, we get to paint the sky with our ideas, free from deadlines and pressure. So here’s to working hard, finishing strong, and ending the week with curiosity, joy, and just a little bit of #freedom. Happy FlexFriday. Happy #FlexFriday. #Demo #Day and #AI Solution Architect Fifth Cohord The energy was palpable, inviting you not just to listen but to immerse yourself in the moment fully. Flex Friday is the perfect chance to take a break from your daily routine, enjoy an afternoon coffee or tea, and indulge in a sweet, decadent, gourmet apple strudel. Thirteen brilliant minds presented for five minutes each on a stage set for AI-powered creations. It was Demo Day, the grand finale of the AI Solution Architect course (4th cohort), and it exceeded all expectations. The range of AI powered projects was astounding. There were hurricane evacuation companions, AI tools distinguishing between human-written and AI-generated text, and a school meal nutrition tracker addressing real-world issues. Additionally, we encountered a document generator for evaluating network outages, an AI-driven tool to combat money laundering, and even a smart sportsbook picker that predicts the next big win. (My vote for the most creative use of AI). The ideas kept coming: personalized investor roadshow profiles, DIY AI agents, and outfit recommendation apps that seemed to understand your style better than you do. And it did not stop there. Some solutions pushed the boundaries of practical AI applications, like AI-powered real estate appraisals and handwritten receipt readers. Others ventured into the cutting edge, including a CNN-based skin cancer diagnosis model. Each presenter delivered their pitch with confidence, guided by Tony Merlo. He infused the event with his signature DJ energy and spent months mentoring these innovators. These demos demonstrated the powerful results that can occur when structured learning meets passionate minds. The atmosphere was charged with ideas, much like the enticing aroma of a perfectly baked apple strudel that draws everyone in. As the last demo wrapped up, we knew this was more than just a showcase. It was a moment of reflection, inspiration, and a glimpse into what is coming next. The next chapter begins now. #ELVTR's fifth AI Solution Architect cohort, and third in the UK, starts next week. Unlike the last cohort, it will begin in the morning PST instead of the evening PST. If you have ever wanted to build real-world AI solutions and be part of something bigger, now is the time. Grab your coffee, take that first bite of something sweet, and get ready. I am looking forward to seeing you in class. + AI Solution Architect course link: https://lnkd.in/g-25JBcc + This article complies with The #First #Law of AI Collaboration. + I hope you enjoy reading it as much as I enjoy writing it. Happy FlexFriday. [From the CAIO #DucHaba] Summit The #AI Peaks What does it take to architect AI solutions that actually work? Over the past eight weeks, 80+ professionals have been finding out, like hikers setting off on a trail, unsure of every turn but eager for the climb. Some came to sharpen their expertise, others to explore new opportunities, and a few just to see how far they could push themselves. Each step challenged us to think, build, and refine, but one thing was clear from the start: by the time we reached the summit, we would not be the same. In the beginning, the first eight lessons of the #AI #Solution #Architect course by #ELVTR, our journey led us to develop a Natural Language Processing (NLP) tool for text toxicity moderation. This tool is essential for every organization to protect employees and customers from harassment and harmful language. It was the first stage of our journey, which came with challenges. Architecting an AI model is like navigating a winding trail; some parts are smooth, while others present challenges. However, we followed a clear plan. We implemented a four-phase, data-driven methodology and used structured checklists to guide each step. The result? A fully API-ready model that is not just a concept but a practical solution ready for real-world deployment. The trail then took a different direction. We left the familiar terrain of text behind and stepped into the world of images, applying the same AI data-driven methodology principles to CNN-based image classification. The path became steeper and more complex but also more rewarding. Just when we thought we had seen it all, something unexpected appeared, like stumbling upon a hidden cave with a genie’s lamp inside. Our journey’s final stretch, the last four lessons, led us into AI orchestration, where we combined multiple AI models, such as LLMs, CNNs, and LSTMs, to create an interconnected ecosystem. We discover the Nurse Burnout Prediction system. We are now approaching the summit: Demo Day. It is the moment when we open the genie’s bottle and witness the magic unfold. Over 15 AI projects will take center stage, each representing a culmination of hard work, creativity, and collaboration. Some projects focus on practical enterprise solutions, while others aim to create meaningful change through AI for Good initiatives. But just like any great adventure, the end of one journey is the beginning of another. The 5th cohort is now open, ready for the next group of explorers to take their first steps. The next AI Solution Architect cohort by ELVTR begins on March 18th. If you are ready to embark on this journey, discover new skills, and find your own AI genie, now is the time. I look forward to seeing you in class. + https://lnkd.in/g-25JBcc + This article complies with The #First #Law of AI Collaboration. + Please #repost, #follow & #thumbs-up. Happy #FlexFriday. [From the CAIO desk #DucHaba] Company #Shares .vs. Convertible #Notes and Cupcakes Last week, we explored the difference between #funders and #investors. This week at the #New #GenAI #Incubator, we’re tackling a topic that every startup founder and investor should understand: the difference between company #shares and convertible #notes. And what better way to explain this than with cupcakes? Imagine you’re starting a cupcake stand in your neighborhood. You have your mom’s best recipes, a killer frosting technique, and a long line of eager neighbors too lazy to bake. But there’s a problem. You need money to buy ingredients and maybe even hire your little brother as a helper. There are two ways to raise money. The first option is to raise money from your friends by offering them a share of the profits from cupcake sales. This involves giving them what is legally called #company #shares. Let’s say you need $100, and each friend contributes $10 in exchange for a 10% ownership stake. This option creates a problem: if you have 10 friends, you would have given away all the profits from the cupcakes, meaning you’d put in a lot of effort without earning anything for yourself. Instead, you could offer 10% equity for $20. This way, you would only need five friends to raise the $100, allowing you to retain 50% of the cupcake sales. In this scenario, your friends, as shareholders, would receive 10% of the profits each day. If you make 100 cupcakes daily, this would mean giving away the equivalent of 50 cupcakes worth of profit each day, which is a significant amount. On the other hand, you could offer something different: convertible #notes. Think of these as special cupcake #coupons. When your friends give you $10, they receive 10 special coupons, but they can’t immediately use those coupons. A month from now, with your little brother’s help and using your neighbor’s oven, you can make 500 cupcakes a day. At that time, your friends with the special cupcake coupons can exchange a coupon for a cupcake. Once they have used their 10 #coupons, you no longer owe them any cupcakes. These coupons, convertible #notes, are drastically different from offering them 10% of your shares. The 10% #shares mean you owe your friends 10 cupcakes for every 100 cupcakes you produce #indefinitely. At the New GenAI Incubator, we encourage founders to strategically consider offering employees, funders, and investors shares or convertible notes. It’s significant to note that the New GenAI Incubator utilizes convertible #notes. So, as you enjoy your Flex Friday with chocolate cupcakes and chocolate chips alongside a hot chocolate, think about which option is sweeter: company shares or convertible notes for your employees, funders, and investors. + This article complies with The #First #Law of AI Collaboration. + Please #repost, #follow & #thumbs-up. Happy FlexFriday. [From the CAIO desk] #Funders & #Investors# & #Incubator & #AppleNews, Oh my! Exciting things are happening as our New GenAI Incubator gains momentum, and now, with a big story featured on #Apple #News, we find ourselves at an interesting crossroads. There is an open door to bring in a lead investor or lead funder to fuel our growth. But wait—aren’t they the same thing? Not quite. Imagine you have a lemonade stand. An #investor is like a smart cousin who helps you buy more lemons and a cool new stand. But he wants some money from every cup you sell and expects you to sell five times more lemonade next week! On the other hand, a #funder is like a sweet old neighbor who loves what you’re doing. She gives you some money because she thinks your lemonade stand makes the neighborhood nicer for kids. She doesn’t worry about how many cups you sell next week; she simply cares about how your lemonade helps everyone have fun and enjoy a walk in the neighborhood. Legally speaking, investors expect ownership, equity, or a share of the profits. On the other hand, funders often provide grants or donations with no strings attached—or at least fewer strings. They care about the mission, not just the money. That’s why we prefer funders. They align with our belief in AI for Good rather than just how fast we can scale. Don’t get us wrong—we love money. We are a for-profit company, after all. But we want to have our cake and eat it too: financial success and a mission focus on AI for Good. So, here’s to building something great, not just fast, but responsible. If you believe in AI that benefits humanity, let’s talk. The future isn’t just about who grows the biggest but who makes a real difference in our community. + This article complies with The #First #Law of AI Collaboration. + Please #repost, #follow & #thumbs-up. #AI for #Good: The New #GenAI #Incubator, #Apple News [From the #CAIO desk (#DucHaba)]: Right from the start, the New GenAI Incubator has been making waves. It is similar to the exciting buzz from discovering the best burrito spot in Southern California. But instead of salsa, we are serving up something even more satisfying: AI for Good. It is about using AI to tackle real-world challenges and create meaningful change. AI for Good is redefining how we think about AI. It is unexpected, transformative, and thoroughly deserving of the hype. And the buzz is growing. #Apple #News and #Grit #Daily are talking about our work. Industry experts and trendsetters are paying attention, and for good reason. + https://lnkd.in/gBUtGAkG (Apple News app required) + https://lnkd.in/geSZA4uv (Grit Daily) At the New GenAI Incubator, we, the #IncuBosses, are not just launching startups but cultivating the next generation of AI pioneers. These individuals are bold, creative, and unwilling to accept the status quo. We refer to them as AI-#IncuBytes. Although small, they are mighty and packed with potential. Each startup receives three months of accelerated development, seed #funding, technical and legal mentorship, and valuable connections leading up to the #Investors Demo Day, where they can pitch their AI app or services. Picture an AI-driven platform optimizing #renewable energy use across entire cities or an innovation that bridges #education gaps in underserved #communities. To the dreamers, the builders, and the ones who refuse to settle for the status quo, this is our moment. If you have an AI idea that could make a real difference, you should not sit on it. Happy #FlexFriday and Happy #Valentine’s Day [From the CAIO desk]: #IncuBytes, #IncuBosses, and Free Style Chess. What if every #AI #startup you backed had to think like a chess grandmaster? At the New GenAI Incubator, we’ve literally reshuffled the game board for innovation. Much like Free Style Chess (Chess960), where every match begins with a fresh shuffled board, we believe success comes not from memorizing old moves but from critical thinking and creativity. Our mission is to empower startups to tackle real-world challenges—climate change, healthcare inequality, and education gaps—with dynamic, impactful solutions that are as winning as endgame strategies. #AI for #Good. Five #legendary co-founders built the incubator and brought their unique skills and vision together, and we’ve had an invaluable ally from day one: GenAI. Whether refining data governance frameworks, risk analysis, or crafting AI usage policies, GenAI has been our trusted tactician. During one policy review, for example, an AI tool flagged a compliance gap that we hadn’t spotted—proof that even the sharpest players benefit from a strategic advisor. Like in Free Style Chess, innovation here isn’t about sticking to a formula but discovering new game strategies. This June, our target first cohort of #IncuBytes, five ambitious startups, will embark on their three-month journey. These aren’t just any startups; they’re solving problems that matter. Picture an AI-driven platform optimizing renewable energy use across entire cities or an innovation that bridges education gaps in underserved communities. Their journeys won’t follow a traditional path, but like Free Style Chess, where every game is unique, they’ll adapt to challenges, think critically, and craft bold strategies to make a difference. The program culminates in #Investor #Demo Day. It is a high-stakes moment akin to the final moves of a chess match, where strategy and execution determine everything. These IncuBytes won’t lean on tired, old playbooks. Instead, they’ll present ideas refined through expert mentorship and innovative thinking, proving that the best moves come from reimagining what’s possible with AI for Good. As #IncuBosses, we’re just as committed to learning as we are to guiding. IncuBytes and IncuBosses isn’t about playing it safe; it’s about reshuffling the board, thinking differently, and creating meaningful impact. If you know a visionary founder ready to make bold moves with AI for Good, let’s connect. Together, we can rethink the game and build a future where AI innovation wins for everyone. + This article complies with The #First #Law of AI Collaboration. + Please #repost, #follow & #thumbs-up. From the professor’s desk (#DucHaba): Hot #Chocolate Milk and the #5th Cohort. I am thrilled to report that the #AI #Solution #Architect course by #ELVTR is as comforting as a warm cup of homemade hot chocolate on a cold winter day. It is a timeless gift, appreciated at any age. Now, in our fourth cohort, we have 84 exceptional students, making this experience feel like pouring rich knowledge into eager cups from various backgrounds. Our classroom is filled with top professionals, including cybersecurity experts, healthcare innovators, founders, product managers, and business consultants, each adding their unique perspective. This course goes beyond basic AI theory; it offers an incredibly hands-on AI solutions experience. By the halfway point, we have already tackled the four phases of the data-driven methodology, creating the essential checklist that every AI Solution Architect needs to manage complex AI projects. Like the ideal hot chocolate recipe, we have balanced technical skills with practical knowledge to support our students at every step. For our first use case, we focused on developing a text toxicity measurement app that offers real-time feedback to users globally. Balancing censorship and civil interaction with the NLP model is challenging. It is akin to making hot chocolate from scratch, requiring the right ingredients and careful attention to detail Text toxicity moderation apps are essential for businesses for several reasons. They create a safe space for customer interactions. Whether it’s a gaming platform fostering civil conversations, a social network prioritizing mental well-being, or an e-commerce site ensuring trust in reviews, a reliable text toxicity moderation system provides comfort and assurance in every interaction. It is not just about preventing unpleasant experiences. It is about cultivating an environment that encourages customers to return repeatedly. Throughout this process, our students have learned to architect this NLP application with precision, following our trusted checklist. Much like that treasured family recipe for hot chocolate, it ensures every step is purposeful, every component perfectly blended. Watching them take these principles and turn them into actionable solutions has been as satisfying as handing someone a steaming mug of hot chocolate milk on a cold, rainy day. The #fifth #cohort of the AI Solution Architect course by #ELVTR is now open for enrollment, and seats are limited. Starting in April, it will be a morning California (PST) schedule, perfect for our friends on the other side of the globe. Let’s architect the future together, one sip of knowledge at a time. + This article complies with The #First #Law of AI Collaboration. + Please #repost, #follow & #thumbs-up.
