As the capabilities of Generative AI continue to grow, the limitations of traditional hardware infrastructure are becoming increasingly apparent. Compute to compute, compute to memory, stack to stack, server to server interconnects are often the bottlenecks, constraining computing and power efficiency. Photonics interconnect and optical switching have the potential to dramatically enhance bandwidth, reduce latency, and lower power consumption—ushering in a new era of scalable, high-performance AI hardware infrastructure. And perhaps, optical computing is around the corner, offering potentially breakthrough performance beyond what an electronic architecture can offer. I’m excited to invite all enthusiasts to the AI + Photonics Summit on Thursday Jan 30, 2025 night at Google Sunnyvale. Last night, we hosted “Bridging Minds and Machines: The Future of AI in Robotics and Wearable” in Menlo Park, welcoming 100+ attendees after receiving registrations over 3x our capacity.
