  • It's Friday of #Eweek2025, and our Vice President, Bliss Kelley Bernard, P.E., has had an exceptionally busy month! She has attended five networking events: JESC in Lafayette, Baton Rouge MATHCOUNTS Regional Competition, LES State Honors and Awards, and the LES Baton Rouge Honors and Awards. Last night, she participated in the well-attended LES Baton Rouge Chapter Engineer's Week Celebration along with Luis Diaz Jr., P.E., Logan Michel, P.E. , Hector Zuniga, Sherri LeBas, Drake Helton, P.E., and Mario Durbic. The Governor’s Office and the East Baton Rouge Mayor’s Office issued proclamations in honor of Engineer’s Week, recognizing the contributions of the Louisiana Engineering Society (LES), the American Council of Engineering Companies (ACEC), the American Society of Civil Engineers (ASCE), and the Women's Transportation Seminar (WTS). As Chapter President, Bliss accepted the proclamation on behalf of LES. This month, she has connected with key industry professionals, promoted mathematics achievement to middle school students, and celebrated Engineers Week — all while managing multiple design projects! Networking is crucial for building professional relationships, sharing knowledge, and fostering collaboration. GEC is honored to have such an involved and dedicated professional with us.

  • For Day 4 of #Eweek2025, we are highlighting one of many social opportunities that GEC offers to our employees. Last week, GEC had a “Taco Social," catered by Zippy’s, which encouraged more employees to step out of their offices and enjoy some great food together at the end of the workday. Our employee morale team plans these initiatives to promote GEC’s culture of empowering employees to seek out teamwork. Celebrating Engineers Week reminds us of the importance of fostering a supportive and engaging work environment for our talented engineers and employees.

  • For Day 3 of #Eweek2025, we want to highlight how our engineers at GEC actively participate in organizational meetings to stay updated on industry trends, news, and networking opportunities. According to ACEC Louisiana, “The American Council of Engineering Companies of Louisiana (ACEC of Louisiana) is the business association of over 130 Louisiana engineering firms, providing tools and educational opportunities to become better business owners and managers. ACEC of Louisiana is a Member Organization of the American Council of Engineering Companies (ACEC).” On Monday, February 10th, ACEC Louisiana hosted a Networking Luncheon at Sullivan’s Steakhouse in Baton Rouge. The event featured a talk by Gregory Sepeda, P.E., on “The Future of Our Professional Engineering Workforce.” GEC attendees included Sherri Lebas, P.E., Bliss Bernard, P.E., and Johnny Bradberry, President.
