Providing a cross-border federated network of national human genomic collections.
关于我们
The Genomic Data Infrastructure (GDI) project will contribute to realise the 1+MG federated secured Infrastructure that will enable European countries to provide access across borders to high-quality human genomic, phenotypic and other linked data for advancing data-driven biomedical research and personalised medicine solutions to benefit citizens of Europe. GDI brings together national agencies, research organisations, and technology providers in 20 countries and 2 international organisations to collaboratively develop, deploy, operate and sustain the data infrastructure required to fulfil the 1+MG ambition by deploying interconnected National nodes.

?? How to better communicate #1MGenomes initiative’s outputs and impact to the public? Today’s #GDI_Deliverables provides ?? guidelines for creating a national 1+MG communications and outreach strategy for citizens and healthcare professionals. ?? The guidelines are targeted at communications and #engagement professionals who require help understanding the aims of the 1+Million Genomes initiative and guidance on how best to focus their efforts. The deliverable was presented in the #GDIStakeholderForum in October where fruitful discussions and comments were provided to integrate into the guidelines. Read more ?? https://loom.ly/8Kcfusc

?? A new service for publishing sensitive biomedical research data has now been launched! ?? The FEGA service (Federated European Genome-phenome Archive) stands apart from other services in that the data are not exported from the service, but analysed within a protected internal cloud service. FEGA is part of CSC's sensitive data services, which enable the use of sensitive data for research. Research teams now have a reliable solution to store and analyse sensitive data while complying with FAIR principles. This is especially crucial for cancer research and other sensitive fields. ????? Thanks to FEGA, Finnish research data will be internationally findable and reuse of data will be more manageable. The data controller can truly control access to the data throughout its life cycle. University of Helsinki, HUS Helsinki University Hospital and CSC – IT Center for Science carried out a FEGA pilot, marking the first submission of Finnish research data to the national FEGA service. ?? ? “This pilot was the first time that Finnish research data were submitted to the national FEGA service, where the data are also findable internationally. Thanks to FEGA, data need not be transferred across borders. Instead, they remain securely encrypted on CSC servers in Finland,” said Director of Sensitive Research Data Services Ilkka Lappalainen at CSC. Health research collaborations mean sharing data – we can deliver faster if we identify and remove obstacles early. Capturing the experience of scientists who have travelled this road, IHI and EFPIA have put together a #Data #Sharing #Playbook. It offers practical solutions to common data sharing challenges, enabling researchers to focus on what matters most – advancing medical science. Explore the Playbook and join us on 4 September for a masterclass on how to facilitate data sharing ? https://bit.ly/46hVGmp #IHITransformingHealth #WeWontRest
