We've been quiet on social media these last two weeks, and that is intentional; after the election we paused. We weren't sure how to jump back into the day-to-day, how to go back to posting updates, or how to even talk about our work in the aftershock of it. However, we're still here, and this month's newsletter talks about how we can move forward, together. https://lnkd.in/g5eQPNMN

Genita Robinson poses some great questions (see below). ?? What do you think?
I've been reflecting on GCR Consulting LLC's most recent newsletter about creating equitable partnerships between consultants and non-profits, and I have a couple of questions for the folks in my network: ?? Non profit leaders: What have you found helpful in terms of sourcing for consultants??What processes have you found useful in selecting consultants? ?? Consultants: Is there a preferred way you want non-profits to reach out about potential projects? ?? ?? You can find the most recent newsletter here: https://lnkd.in/gCxDCky4

Last week Freedom Lifted's “The Shared Power Podcast” released an episode on which Genita Robinson had the joy of being the guest.? Mia Henry and Genita Robinson discussed the intersection of power and boards and if it was possible for power to be shared. (You can read more about it/gain access to the episode here: https://lnkd.in/gvuWYsr2) Power and its ability to corrupt is not a new topic.? The Harvard Business Review published an article in 2016 about this very topic.? It is not a given that if you’re in a position of power that you’ll turn into someone you don’t recognize.? There are many tactics and tools that any leader can implement and be the kind of leader we would hope to be ourselves. Read the article here: https://lnkd.in/fTfEqzZ

How do you manage your inbox of newsletters and blogs?
? ? Earlier this month, the GCR Consulting LLC newsletter shared the other newsletters and blogs which I enjoy reading regularly. I want to also share some advice on the converse - things that do not give you energy. (If you missed the GCR Consulting newsletter you can read it here: https://lnkd.in/gEAYuNTS) ?? Two times a year, I audit my newsletter subscriptions. I have a separate email address for most of those subscriptions. I sort that inbox by sender and then delete old unread newsletter. If I find that I have not read or found use for the content of a newsletter for several months, I unsubscribe. ?? Think of it as Marie Kondo-ing your inbox.
