关于我们
The Global Centre for Climate Mobility (GCCM) is a global partnership at the nexus of climate action and human mobility to enable positive adaptation journeys for people and communities at the frontline of the climate crisis. It is hosted at the UN Office for Project Services and advanced by champion countries, UN Agencies, the World Bank, and regional organizations with support from philanthropy, civil society organizations and research institutions. Since its establishment in 2021, the GCCM supports positive community transition in the most vulnerable regions through regional initiatives that enable countries and frontline communities to anticipate, plan, and design responses for climate mobility. The GCCM also manages the Communities Climate Adaptation Facility, providing climate quick impact grants of up to USD 100K in support of community-led projects.

???? "Statehood cannot be challenged under any circumstances of sea-level rise. Our [Tuvalu’s] membership in the United Nations and its specialized agencies is permanent, notwithstanding the impact of climate change." During the High-Level Session on Addressing the Existential Threats Posed by Sea-Level Rise, H.E. Feleti Teo, Prime Minister of Tuvalu, addressed attendees at the Climate Mobility Pavilion. He underscored the need to establish a legal framework for statehood continuity in cases of partial or total subsidence of land due to sea-level rise. H.E. Feleti Teo stressed that adopting statehood continuity as a principle of international law would protect the rights, prerogatives, and privileges of affected countries, ensuring they are never questioned or diminished, in accordance with international law and practice. Global Centre for Climate Mobility转发了
Existence is interwoven with stories, and I had the honor of sharing mine. I am deeply grateful to have been featured in the Colombian local newspaper Nueva Crónica Quindío. Thanks to the invaluable support of the Global Centre for Climate Mobility, I was able to represent Colombia. Representing my country is not just about carrying a name or a territory; it is about speaking from the scars of degraded forests, the resilience of communities, and the urgent need to reconcile with nature in a country shaped by conflict. Being in these spaces reaffirms to me that it is not enough to add commitments: we need to transform narratives and recognize that climate justice is also social justice. Now more than ever, global decisions must reflect local realities, and young voices must not be an exception, they must be at the heart of this transition. #climateaction #colombia #COP29

???? “Iraq today is suffering from water shortages and rising temperatures. IOM have found that hundreds of thousands of people have been displaced by the climate within Iraq. We are hearing so much about climate finance this, and climate resilience, but we need more accessible information about how everyday people can protect their land. As a psychologist, I work in refugee and IDP camps. Many of the people I speak to are suffering from defeat and exhaustion. We need more education on how to deal with these big issues by taking small steps to protect the land. We forget that small steps make a big difference if we work together.” Shene Mohammad, Climate Mobility Youth Delegate from Iraq, delivered an impactful statement at the first-ever Climate Mobility Youth Day in the Climate Mobility Pavilion at #COP29. She highlighted the urgent need for climate literacy in Iraq, where climate mobility is rapidly increasing. Shene emphasized the importance of empowering vulnerable communities to take meaningful actions to protect their land and livelihoods.
