Wholly owned by the membership, the Builders Exchange is a not-for-profit corporation operating as a trade organization under the guidance of a volunteer board of directors as representatives of the industry.

Grateful for time well spent with leaders in the commercial contracting space as part of the Gulf Coast Builders Exchange (GCBX)’s Lunch and Learn series. On Wednesday, Sarasota County Sheriff Kurt A. Hoffman and I co-presented on the topic of Navigating Crisis in commercial contracting. Moderated by Halfacre Construction Company’s Tom Rees, we offered attendees a mock crane collapse scenario and talked through best practices for law enforcement coordination, public records under Chapter 119, communicating with news media, prioritizing information sharing, and my personal favorite: developing and practicing a crisis communications plan. Thank you to Mary Dougherty and Kelly Monti for hosting a great event!
