On this Maryland Day, we’re calling for a Maryland that works for everyone. National Urban League's President & CEO, MARC MORIAL, Greater Baltimore Urban League (GBUL)'s President & CEO, Tykia Warden, and Greater Washington Urban League's President & CEO, George H. Lambert, Jr., are calling on lawmakers to pass SB432—transformative legislation that will dismantle outdated legal barriers and open pathways to employment, housing, and stability for thousands of justice-impacted Marylanders. #SB432 isn’t just about record relief—it’s about racial justice, workforce development, and restoring dignity and economic power to our communities. With extreme sadness, we mourn the passing of the legendary D’Wayne Wiggins. His contributions to music and culture were truly iconic, and we were honored to have him perform at the Greater Baltimore Urban League’s 100th Anniversary Celebration. His energy, talent, and passion left an unforgettable mark on all who had the privilege to witness it. Our President & CEO, Tykia Warden had the honor of sharing moments with him, and we will forever cherish his kindness, artistry, and commitment to uplifting others.
