PUBLIC NOTICE: FFY 26-30 Transportation Improvement Program (TIP) Constrained and Illustrative Project Listings Per federal regulations (CFR 23 § 450.326), the GBNRTC, in cooperation with the State(s) and any affected public transportation operator(s), is required to develop a Transportation Improvement Program (TIP) for the metropolitan planning area. Inclusion in the TIP is a prerequisite to federal funding approval for projects programmed from funding sources directly under the GBNRTC responsibility. The Greater Buffalo-Niagara Regional Transportation Council (GBNRTC), the Metropolitan Planning Organization (MPO) for Erie and Niagara Counties, is in the process of updating the current FFY 23-27 TIP (covering the period 10/1/22 to 9/30/26). The Greater Buffalo-Niagara Regional Transportation Council is the Metropolitan Planning Organization (MPO) for Erie and Niagara Counties. By federal law, an MPO is designated by each state's governor for every urban area in the United States of America with at least 50,000 residents. MPOs devise solutions to regional transportation problems, which involves addressing land use, air quality, energy, economic development, and commerce. The GBNRTC is focused on establishing a comprehensive, cooperative, and continuing transportation planning process for Erie and Niagara Counties' metropolitan area.

PUBLIC NOTICE: 2023-2027 TIP Amendment # 36 PIN 5765.42 Warsaw Street over Smokes Creek (BNY) - New Project The Greater Buffalo Niagara Regional Transportation Council (GBNRTC) is proposing to amend the 2023-2027 Transportation Improvement Program (TIP) by adding one (1) new project. This is a new project which proposes a complete superstructure replacement, extension to the span length and new abutments. The project will restore the bridge condition rating to 5 or greater, for at least 75 years using cost effective techniques to minimize the life cycle cost of maintenance and repair. ? There will be a new 5 ft. wide concrete sidewalk with integral curb and 4-rail guiderail on both sides for the entire length of the structure. ? The entire begin and end abutments will be removed to realign the flow of the creek. ? Roadway approach work will be completed to raise the elevation of the new bridge above the current FEMA floodplain and a create a realignment of the stream. Public comments will be received for 30 days from 2/20/25 until Close of Business COB on 3/21/25. Yesterday, we had the privilege of tabling at the NFTA Bailey BRT Project Open House, where we had the opportunity to share details about the GBNRTC's Comprehensive Roadway Safety Action Plan, specifically the Roadway All-User Crash Elimination Plan (RACE). It was also a great chance to hear valuable feedback from the public and learn more about their concerns surrounding roadway safety in our region.
