Recently, Sarah Mazur, PT II, from our Acute Care Rehab Medicine department was recognized by Emily Baust and was selected as a Peer-to-Peer winner. “Sarah had a patient who was unable to walk in the hallway due to light sensitivity. She recognized the limitation this would put on the patient, so she went to the GBMC Corner Shop to purchase sunglasses to improve the patient’s comfort. The patient was very grateful, and the glasses allowed the ability to perform ambulation.” This was an example of going above and beyond so a patient could succeed in her recovery. Every month, at GBMC leadership meetings, staff members are recognized for the exceptional service they provide. At the September meeting, Sapna Kuehl, MD, Internal Medicine Faculty Residency Program, and Nansen Kuo, MD, Resident Intern I, and Hnin "Christina" Aung, MD, Resident III, were recognized for their outstanding care. A family member shared their appreciation for the exceptional care provided during their loved one's stay at GBMC. Dr. Kuehl’s thorough, patient, and kind approach, along with the support from Dr. Kuo and their team, ensured the patient received excellent medical attention.
