Celebrating International Women’s Day ?? Our team at Gay Gaming Professionals would like to thank all women for their accomplishments that have impacted the world in a positive way. Women such as Barbara Gittings, Marsha P. Johnson, Sylvia Rivera, and Aure Lorde were instrumental in shaping LGBTQ+ civil rights, which paved the way for organizations such as ours to exist today. ? In games, we have seen several titles led by women that influenced the incredible stories and experiences we make. For this, we are humbled and thankful for all women game developers for their contributions in building a better industry. ?? #women #internationalwomensday #IWD2025 #lgbtq

As we continue celebrating Black History Month, I’d like to recognize the incredible Gordon Bellamy for helping pave the way for diversity in video games in the 90’s. He defined the default player in Madden ’95 as African American to reflect the actual player demographics and made it the first video game to feature Black athletes on the packaging. ???? He also created an accurate NFL roster in the game with player’s attributes for the first time in Madden’s history. ? Starting as a product tester intern at Electronic Arts (EA) in 1993, Gordon worked his way up to Lead Designer. He’s spent over 30 years as a leader in gaming and interactive media while driving inclusivity, accessibility, and diversity, and creating spaces for people of color and LGBTQIA+ voices within the industry. Today, Gordon is a Director of Ethics at the USC School of Cinematic Arts, inspiring the next generation. ? ? Thank you, Gordon, for being such visionary and pushing for representation so we can see ourselves in games, embracing everyone in the industry, and spreading joy wherever you go. ?? ? ?? Learn about Gordon’s journey and how he redefined the default:?https://lnkd.in/gvDuYvRy
