For 200 years, Gather has been serving Seacoast residents facing hunger. The agency was founded in 1816 by a small group of women committed to feeding the families of fishermen. Today, Gather is committed to ending local hunger through collaboration and leadership. Gather serves those in our community experiencing hunger by providing nutritious food through innovative distribution programs and our Pantry Market. We offer nutrition education and recipes for healthy living. We collaborate with community partners to address the root causes of hunger throughout the Seacoast in NH and ME. Gather's focus on streamlined internal systems, processes and controls ensures that every dollar donated has a big impact on hunger. 90￠ of every dollar donated to Gather goes directly toward local hunger relief.

    LeMay Family Goodworks team members Hannah, Tad, Ian, Sean, and I had an amazing time last week at the Gather Thanksgiving Food Drive, despite the rain!?? This is our third year involved in this event and we continue to be blown away by the collaboration and generosity. Gather managed to: ???Give out a whopping 23,630 pounds of food, including 450 turkeys and 88 chickens!? ??Serve 545 families, representing 1,643 people? ??Hand out more turkeys and fixings at the Community Campus to those who couldn’t attend the drive We were also excited to have Red's Good Vibes join us this year, who provided hot meals to those families waiting in line. Big thanks to this amazing crew for bringing their free meal food truck!?? Shout out to our team for helping out, and to all the wonderful Gather volunteers for putting on another impactful drive.??     Gather’s culinary team created 250 beautiful premade Thanksgiving meals and desserts for those who are unable to put together their own Thanksgiving dinner this year. ???? We are so grateful for our friend, Nina Parrott The Fifth Flavor who once again coordinated donations from several of our Seacoast Waste Not partners to make these meals possible!     Despite a cold, rainy November day, Gather was able to distribute 23,630 pounds of food to 545 families representing 1,643 people for their Thanksgiving meals. Our annual distribution provides community members with warm weather gear provided by the Alliance for Greater Good and all the fixings for their Thanksgiving dinner including produce, canned goods, pie, and of course the turkey. ???? This year, we were joined by Red’s Good Vibes who were able to give out a hot breakfast to everyone and beat the early winter blues. Thanks to LeMay Family Goodworks for allowing Red’s to join us! None of this would have been possible without our amazing presenting sponsor Novocure and event sponsors Service Credit Union Highliner Seafood Timberland and Cathartes with in-kind donations from Favorite Foods, Inc. and Tuscan Brands ?? Don’t forget those pie donations from our community members!

    Gather‘s Culinary Director, Tania Marino recently received the Nutrition Equity Innovator of the Year award from New Hampshire Hunger Solutions for her work with Gather’s Seacoast Waste Not coalition. Laura Milliken Executive Director of NHHS says, “Tania’s dedication to reducing food waste and her unwavering commitment to nourishing our community embody the spirit of innovation and compassion. Her leadership has not only transformed food resources but has inspired partnerships that strengthen our food system as a whole. Tania is a true asset to our community, and her work reminds us of the difference one person can make in fostering equity and sustainability for all.” Tania would like to thank all SWN coalition members for their dedication to reducing food waste and helping reduce food insecurity in our community. Congratulations, Tania on this well deserved award!

    ?? It's November... besides family & football, ???????? ?? It's a time for GIVING ?? ?? ?? If you are looking for places & ways to give this holiday season, please consider Gather As the primary food bank in the Seacoast area, Gather's impact really can't be overstated. Some quick stats: ?? 10k individuals served monthly (a 23% increase from 2023) ?? Over 1.6 MILLON pounds of food distributed (a 14% increase) ?? 685,000 pounds of food diverted from landfills (a 2% decrease) *this last point especially underscores the importance of donations right now. With the need increasing massively, and retailers holding onto produce longer to eke out a profit rather than donate it, Gather is relying more than ever on community donations. Of course, they will always take your donations, but to make things easier we will also be collecting at all three of our offices over the next month for the annual Pease 'n Carrots food drive.
