Following an extensive renovation, the Old Courthouse at Gateway Arch National Park will reopen its doors on May 3, 2025, ushering in a new era of accessibility, educational programming, and community engagement. “The Old Courthouse has been the site of some of the most pivotal moments in American history, and now it will offer visitors an even deeper connection to its past,” said Jeremy Sweat, Superintendent of Gateway Arch National Park. “With the new exhibits, enhanced accessibility, and structural updates, the Old Courthouse will continue to be a vital educational and cultural resource for generations to come.” The grand reopening will feature a full day of activities honoring the Old Courthouse’s rich history and continued relevance. The festival, thoughtfully planned to engage individuals of all ages and abilities, will feature remarks from dignitaries, interactive educational programming, and more. Celebrated artist Cbabi Bayoc has partnered with Gateway Arch National Park and Gateway Arch Park Foundation to craft the vibrant branding for this year’s festival. Additional details about the grand reopening festivities will be released later this spring. To read the full press release, visit archpark.org/courthouse ??

St. Louis erupted in excitement with the unveiling of an ambitious vision for the current Millennium Hotel site. St. Louis Public Radio’s Eric Schmid was among the first to share the news as headlines went live (link in comments), swiftly sparking enthusiastic reactions across the region: “St. Louis, are we… back?” “This is, like, New York City levels of stuff right here.” “Is it Christmas morning?” “This project is a big win for St. Louis.” “Let me catch my breath.” In partnership with Cordish, this remarkable $670 million redevelopment promises to redefine the St. Louis Riverfront and invigorate Downtown, ushering in a bold new era. Gateway Arch Park Foundation’s dedicated work, alongside many extraordinary agencies, in driving the transformative renovation of Gateway Arch National Park and Kiener Plaza, laid the foundation for this momentous project. The joyful response resonating throughout our community is a testament to St. Louis' vibrant culture and deep civic pride. This development completes the journey connecting the Arch, Kiener Plaza, Ballpark Village, Citygarden, and Soldiers Memorial, seamlessly bridging the Riverfront and Downtown. With the Downtown segment of the Brickline Greenway slated for completion this summer, the Old Courthouse scheduled to open this spring, and with major hotel and residential projects already underway, Downtown’s future shines brightly. Congratulations to Gateway Arch Park Foundation, The Cordish Companies, and the incredible agencies and groups supporting this effort: City of St. Louis, St. Louis Development Corporation (SLDC), Greater St. Louis, Inc., Ballpark Village St. Louis, and Downtown St. Louis! Thank you?Ryan McClure and?Mike LaMartina for your vision and leadership. You're making St. Louis ? shine ?! Photo by Miranda Munguia.

We'd like to extend our congratulations to our Executive Director, Ryan McClure, for being selected as part of St. Louis Magazine's inaugural St. Louis Business 500. This list highlights some of the metro area’s most impactful, innovative, and inspirational leaders. Thanks for all you do for St. Louis, Ryan! Read on below for an excerpt of Ryan's profile, and check out the full interview here: https://lnkd.in/ggSvnMdv SLM: If you could change one thing about your industry, what would it be and why? RM: I would define our industry as conserving, preserving, and activating public spaces. Public spaces drive equitable communities, and it's important that we continue to invest in and improve these spaces. However, even at a time when more people are using parks and public spaces, particularly national parks, we are seeing dwindling public funds. I would hope for more funds from congress for National Parks, which will leverage the immense philanthropic support that organizations like ours provide.

Big news for Gateway Arch Park Foundation and St. Louis as we announce our partnership with The Cordish Companies on a proposed plan for the Millennium site. This has been three years of hard work in the making by our team, Greater St. Louis, Inc., St. Louis Development Corporation (SLDC), and the City of St. Louis. St. Louis can and will do big things when we work together. Gateway Arch Park Foundation's entire existence has been built on that partnership premise. We are proud of our City and willing to do our part to address our big challenges. We hope you’ll join us on that journey!

We are excited to share that Gateway Arch Park Foundation has selected The Cordish Companies to redevelop the Millennium Hotel property, located at 200 S. 4th St. This milestone marks a major step toward revitalizing a key downtown site that has stood vacant since 2014. “We are delivering on our promise to take swift action to bring vibrancy once again to this critical downtown location,” said Ryan McClure, Executive Director of Gateway Arch Park Foundation. “By selecting a developer before closing on this property, we are continuing momentum with purpose and dedication. The Cordish Companies is a world-class U.S. developer, and their vision will be transformative for this site, creating a stronger, more connected downtown St. Louis and uplifting our entire region.” Read the full press release at https://lnkd.in/gj2CYfDt

We were thrilled to welcome Nine PBS to the Old Courthouse at Gateway Arch National Park to get an update on the building's structural and accessibility improvements and a preview of the spaces where the new exhibits will be installed. Only the second major renovation in the history of the building, these changes introduce an elevator for improved accessibility within the building, a new heating, cooling, and ventilation system, renovated ceilings and flooring, and other updates to revitalize and maintain the building's structural integrity. The site's exhibits are undergoing a complete reimagining as well to tell the stories of the individuals who passed through the courthouse, highlight the building's significant architectural features, and dive deeper into the court system in America. The Old Courthouse is scheduled to reopen in late Spring of this year. The renovations are part of the CityArchRiver Project, which was the largest public-private partnership in the history of the National Park Service.
