Exciting progress for our project in the City of Menlo Park?by #FPGdevelopment and owner Menlo Park Hotel! New renderings show the proposed 7-story Moxy Hotel by Marriott on Haven Ave off Hwy 101. Landscape design by Gates + Associates aims to enhance the guest experience and contribute to the aesthetic and practical value of the project. Congrats to the City of Palo Alto which voted approval of?Gates + Associates' concept-plans for enlivening the University Ave #downtown to be more walkable, enjoyable, shopper-friendly - like other #SFBayArea downtowns. Why is it needed? A survey?of residents showed just 16% gave high ratings for “vibrancy of downtown/commercial areas".?Palo Alto Chamber of Commerce & Visitor Center says it's desperately?needed. How kindergarteners?design a park? Awfully well, say Gates + Associates colleagues leading our brainstorm 'charrette' at Ms Tucker's Washburn Elementary class in Town of Windsor. The assignment:?Reimagine David Smith Memorial Park (former Pleasant Oak Park) that's?next?door to the school. Kids learned how things are planned, in this case a formal #MasterPlan. Gates learned?too: Swings are still VERY popular. And lots of color...but crayons may be hard to replicate.

Great new project ‘win’, and a Silicon Valley Business Journal Bizjournals.Com LLC ‘Structures” honoree! Gates + Associates is fortunate to be teamed up to redesign/refresh West Valley - Mission Community College District for their Learning Resource Center. The school said it best: “LRC’s ‘greenest’ feature is it’s being renovated not scraped. Calif is leading in sustainability by reusing (& improving) instead of tearing down.” Some 7800 students at the school will enjoy a new improved learning-focused facility by late 2025.
