The Staff Council offers valuable insights and advice to the Institute President and executive leadership, all while fulfilling its mission to Engage, Advocate, and Inform. A few months ago, we celebrated a significant milestone—10 years of making an impact at Georgia Tech! Joseph Kyle Richardson, Chair of the Campus Physical Environment Committee, shared that "being a part of Staff Council means being the voice for fellow staff and ensuring their voices are heard." When we asked Joseph about his favorite memory from his time on Staff Council, he fondly recalled a fellow member and their time working together. He said, "David Brown, an electrician by trade, was elected Chair of the Council in 2019 and appointed by the Board of Regents to the Georgia Tech Presidential Search Committee. His charismatic nature made him an ideal fit for the role, and I was confident he would excel. Seeing a blue-collar worker stand among the Board of Regents, CEOs, and Ph.D.s proved that the Staff Council truly represents every staff member—each and every one of us." Meet Rayne Bozeman, PhD, our next spotlight with ‘Faces of Tech Friday’. Rayne is the Director of Culture and Leadership Development at GTHR. Rayne has been with Georgia Tech for over three years, and when asked what makes working here enjoyable on a daily basis she answered: “I get to work on a variety of tasks that leverage my strengths and expertise while collaborating with a dynamic team. Additionally, the work-life balance is something I truly appreciate.” Rayne went on to express her appreciation for Georgia Tech’s commitment to work-life balance, highlighting the many ways it supports both professional growth and personal well-being. "Entrepreneurial, disciplined, and innovative"—that’s how Rayne describes Georgia Tech in three words. March is national Women’s History Month, and to help kick things off this past weekend, Georgia Tech celebrated the official unveiling of the ‘Pathway to Progress’ installation outside the John Lewis Student Center! The Office of Development and the GT Alumni Association helped the greater Tech community celebrate the Georgia Tech alumnae, faculty, staff, administrators, advocates, and students who have forged pathways in their fields and have left a a historic impact on campus. This was an amazing initiative to be a part of. This semester, I had the opportunity to join the Employer Branding team at Georgia Tech Human Resources as a Student Assistant! I have been able to gain valuable experience and be a part of amazing community initiatives—like this one! Grateful to work alongside such a supportive team who make every day a learning experience.
