With over 27 years of dedicated nonprofit experience, including a successful tenure as Garten’s Recycling Operations Supervisor for 17 years, Pete steps into this new role with a deep understanding of Garten’s recycling operations and a strong commitment to our values and culture. In his previous position, Pete was responsible for a wide range of critical duties, including buying and selling recycling materials and ensuring the efficient processing of materials to meet market demands. He also managed our R2Rios Certification, overseeing the strict adherence to environmental and quality standards, which is key to maintaining Garten's commitment to responsible recycling practices. In addition, Pete played a pivotal role in mentoring production staff and leads, providing guidance and training to ensure operational excellence, and fostering a culture of continuous improvement. His leadership extended to the recruitment and hiring of individuals with barriers to employment, offering opportunities for people facing challenges to re-enter the workforce and gain meaningful employment. Garten is thrilled to see Pete step into this new leadership role. His extensive experience in recycling operations, compassionate leadership style, and dedication to providing opportunities for people with barriers to employment align perfectly with Garten’s mission and values. Garten Services Announces the Promotion of Frank Kenney to Eugene Branch Manager Garten Services is excited to announce the promotion of Frank Kenney to Eugene Branch Manager. Frank brings a wealth of experience and expertise to this leadership role, developed through years of dedicated service in both custodial and operational management. Frank has been a valued member of Garten Services since June 13, 2022, initially serving as an Operations Supervisor before earning this well-deserved promotion. In this role, Frank was responsible for overseeing daily operations, enhancing workflow efficiency, and driving team productivity. He successfully resolved operational challenges, ensuring seamless service delivery, and implemented process improvements that resulted in notable performance gains. Prior to joining Garten, Frank served as a Custodial Specialist with DPI Staffing at the PeaceHealth Riverbend facility. In this role, he was responsible for maintaining the cleanliness, safety, and comfort of patient rooms, common areas, and medical facilities. His exceptional attention to detail, organizational skills, and focus on delivering high-quality results were instrumental in ensuring a safe and welcoming environment. Garten Services is excited to have Frank lead the Eugene Branch. His passion for creating a supportive, efficient, and inclusive workplace aligns seamlessly with Garten’s mission to empower individuals and deliver high-quality service to customers. We are pleased to announce the promotion of Mauro Moreno to Custodial & Landscaping Manager, effective December 2, 2024. With over eight years of management experience, including his tenure as Garten’s Custodial & Landscaping Assistant Manager, Mauro brings a proven track record of leadership and a commitment to delivering exceptional service. Before joining Garten, Mauro served as the Warehouse Assistant Manager at NEXEN Tire America. In this role, he oversaw the preparation and processing of customer orders, hired and trained staff to meet operational standards, coordinated daily workflows, and ensured the timely delivery of shipments. Mauro holds a Master of Business Administration from California Baptist University and a Bachelor of Arts in Business Administration from California State University, San Bernardino. Garten is thrilled to welcome Mauro into this new role. His extensive customer service experience, compassionate leadership style, and dedication to fostering a supportive environment align perfectly with Garten’s mission and values. We blinked and it's officially November! In October, DayBreak participants enjoyed a variety of outings, including trips to a Halloween store, a pumpkin patch, and a stop for delicious treats at the Willamette Valley Pie Company.
