Congratulations to Garnett Powell Maximon Barlow & Farbes's partner Robert Barlow who finished up a jury trial in Steamboat last week. Rob navigated some incredibly complicated issues in representing our client on his counterclaim and won directed verdict! Well done, Rob!
I tried my 95th jury trial last week. Our client won a directed verdict—a first in my career!—on his counterclaim, while a Routt County jury awarded a verdict in favor of the Plaintiff on his premises liability (“PLA”) claim. An appeal is likely, and it is likely to make new law interpreting the PLA and the wrong-of-another doctrine.

Our Courts is a national model for expanding public knowledge and understanding of the Judiciary.
