关于我们
Garden State Equality lifts up the diverse voices of LGBTQ+ communities through education and advocacy to advance the movement for equality in New Jersey and nationally. We work tirelessly to ensure the communities we serve experience lived equality. Garden State Equality is the largest LGBTQ+ advocacy organization in New Jersey, with over 150,000 members. Established in 2004, we are now one of the most successful statewide LGBTQ+ civil rights organizations in the nation. Our services include advocacy, policy work, and trainings. We work to address safe environments for youth, improvement of health services that meet LGBTQ+ community needs, and respectful treatment of seniors. Beyond that, Garden State Equality supports New Jersey’s activist community by bringing an LGBTQ+ lens to the shared struggle for justice. All our current work is informed by racial, economic, and disability justice concerns. We envision a vibrant and diverse Garden State with full equality in the law and LGBTQ+ residents of all backgrounds experiencing equality in their lives.

We want to thank Senators Cory Booker and Andy Kim for supporting trans youth AGAIN earlier this week by voting "NO" on Senate Bill 9. This bill would've banned transgender girls and women from being able to play on the correct sports teams. At a time when transgender, nonbinary, and gender diverse people — students and athletes in particular —?are being attacked by the highest office in the land, your support is critical. [ID: Over a navy background in white and light blue text: "Thank you for supporting trans youth AGAIN!" Inset are portraits of Sen. Booker and Sen. Kim.] #NJ #NewJersey

We’re fighting to protect gender-affirming care in New Jersey for people like Michelle. You can help. Learn more and get involved at: https://jerseytrans.care [ID: Over a dark blue background in white, light blue, and pink text: 1. "Because of my untreated gender dysphoria, I felt depressed and devoid of a personality. I finally came out in 2021 and sought gender-affirming care, leading me to become far happier. Gender-affirming care is medically necessary and must be covered by all health insurance providers so that transgender people like me can afford to receive the care that we need. — Michelle, Monmouth County." 2: The same text as the caption.] #NJ #NewJersey #jerseyfortranscare
