    *14* Many thought it wouldn’t ever happen. Some still can’t believe it happened. But This has Never been about them, or Me. This has always been about those that feel they don’t matter, that question their value, that let their struggles define them and for those that think they wouldn’t be missed. That’s where I found myself for a very long time, and for the past 14 years, with a lot of help from others, I have steadily walked further away from that version of myself. 14 years of showing up, even when it’s hard, even when I’m tired, because So Many people did that for me. I am here today because people believed in me, encouraged me, and when I didn’t see hope, they opened my eyes. 14 Years. Proof that there’s something better on the other side of addiction.     When I received an invitation from a treatment center to be a guest on their podcast, I was initially skeptical. I often avoid podcasts, finding many to be redundant and self-promoting. However, I agreed to participate under the condition that I could speak candidly and authentically. They welcomed this approach, and I joined the conversation. What followed was a truly fun and engaging discussion with host James. Although it felt brief, our conversation extended to nearly two hours, covering important aspects of the recovery industry, GAMBIT RECOVERY , family dynamics, and the importance of community.     Tonight I was honored to have received a Proclamation from Mayor Hartke of Chandler, Arizona declaring March as National Disabilities Awareness Month. The City of Chandler is truly dedicated to inclusivity, offering support to those with disabilities and goes to great lengths in raising awareness. As the chair of the Mayor’s Board for People with Disabilities, I’m deeply committed to raising awareness and advocating for those facing challenges, including addiction. I and GAMBIT RECOVERY will continue celebrating diversity, and building a community where everyone feels included. In 2 years we have expanded throughout 4 states, created the golden standard of sober living, and are no where near stopping. As we reflect on this incredible journey, we are filled with gratitude for each and every one of you who have been part of our family, whether as participant, staff members, supporters, or friends. Over the past two years, we’ve witnessed incredible transformations, moments of courage, and triumph of the human spirit. Together we’ve created a sanctuary where individuals find solace, support, and strength on their path to recovery.
