In honor of National Bourbon Heritage Month, I wanted to revisit this gem of a story from last year. ?? Michter’s Fort Nelson Distillery proudly honors a historical legacy that dates back to 1753, the founding of America’s first whiskey company. Located in the heart of downtown Louisville, Michter’s offers an experience steeped in tradition and craftsmanship. I had the privilege of touring the distillery with Andrea Wilson, Master of Maturation, where I explored the intricate production process on the legendary Michter’s Pennsylvania pot still system. The Founders Tour provided an in-depth look into their meticulous distilling process and concluded with a tasting of 7 exceptional Michter’s whiskeys, including the legacy brands Bomberger’s and Shenk’s. This collaboration was part of a partnership with the Galt House Hotels, where we celebrated National Bourbon Heritage Month with the exclusive Derby City Experience package.
