Last week was Women in Construction Week! Gallin opted to take the amazing women in our company out for lunch, to show some appreciation. Cheers to all the talented women in the construction industry!

We are celebrating Women in Construction all month because Gallin has no shortage of talented team members to highlight. Take Erica Barker: armed with a Bachelor of Science in Sustainable Construction Management and Engineering, Erica has proven herself to be an excellent leader. She’s also a self-described people-person who understands the value of establishing strong relationships on both the client side and internally. Coupled with her expertise and experience, Erica has emerged as an indispensable member of the Gallin team.

On International Women’s Day, we celebrate the contributions of the many talented, dedicated, and inspiring women who work at Gallin across the firm in every capacity: Business Development, Estimating, Marketing, Project Management, and Administration. Thank you!

Happy Alexander Graham Bell Day! Fun Fact: 195 Broadway was once also known as the Telephone Building because it was the NYC headquarters of AT&T, a company co-founded by Bell. Gallin has had the privilege of working in this historic landmarked building which still stands today.

It’s Women in Construction Week, and we are celebrating inspiring, talented professionals like our own Brittany Gallin. Over the last 14 years she has gained experience across the organization, serving as a Project Manager, Marketing and Brand Manager, and Estimator. Simply put, Brittany knows construction. The fact that women make up only 11.5% of the construction workforce makes Brittany’s achievements all the more remarkable. Here’s to you Britt, and all the incredible women who are helping us build forward with strength, safety and sustainability.

From raw, open spaces to a sleek, functional, and vibrant office, we were thrilled to help Vox Media create an environment that fosters creativity, collaboration, and innovation. Before: A blank canvas, full of potential. After: A modern, dynamic office that reflects the brand’s energy and mission. It’s amazing what great construction can do to turn a vision into reality. When the architects at Vocon were asked to design the offices of a prominent financial tech firm in midtown Manhattan, they balanced form and function with style and wit. The resulting environment is welcoming, comfortable, and exceedingly flexible. Glass front walls in the offices and conference rooms allow abundant light to flow throughout, into even the most interior spaces. The large pantry and adjacent open-plan work area feel airy and spacious, with stunning views of the Manhattan skyline at every turn. By leaving the oval ductwork exposed and opting for polished concrete floors, the bright white space has a fresh, easy feel, while perfectly placed millwork cabinets and shelving ground the space and offer much-needed storage.
