This holiday season, Galileo participated in a food drive event hosted by our parent company, Merjent. Our staff was given the opportunity to choose which food bank they would like to donate to and Galileo graciously matched each donation. Through a series of fundraising events and activities, we surpassed our giving goal through the generous donations of our staff and matching donations. The donated funds will help families in Arizona, Minnesota, and Wisconsin. Galileo encourages you to join us in donating to a food bank of your choice!

For our Q3 donation, Galileo decided to donate to the Southwest Wildlife Conservation Center (SWCC), a nonprofit organization that rescues, rehabilitates, and releases wild Arizona native mammals that have been displaced due to development whenever possible. ? SWCC has provided medical care, full-time wildlife consultation services, educational services, and has been an accredited sanctuary for thousands of animals that would otherwise not survive in the wild since 1994. SWCC has contributed to the recovery of the Mexican gray wolf, one of the most endangered mammals in North America, and is a participating member of the Mexican Wolf Species Saving Animals From Extinction (SAFE) Program. ? SWCC hosts various fun and educational events throughout the year and will be hosting a Wild About Wildlife Gala to celebrate its 30th anniversary on November 8, 2024! More information on the Wild About Wildlife Gala can be found on their website. Please join us in donating to SWCC: https://lnkd.in/ekPJR3Rp

This month, we would like to highlight one of our amazing employees, Rachael Fleck. Rachael is a Project Manager and has worked at Galileo for four years. Rachael says "being part of Galileo has really opened my world to the hard work, creativeness, and knowledge that it takes to complete the NEPA and construction phases of projects; helping find solutions to ensure tasks are completed in an expediate and thoughtful way. It has been an amazing learning opportunity; every day has a new experience or obstacle that must be overcome. Galileo has a great support network and knowledge base that are willing to help you learn." Rachael loves to be outdoors hiking, gardening, and exploring new areas with her dog, Nellie. She also loves to read books with happy endings and always has a book nearby for any downtime she has. One fun fact about Rachael is that she has moved states seven times in the last twelve years. She said that if she was a fruit, she would be a kiwi because her personality and viewpoint on the world is unique and she can be a little sweet or a little tart depending on the day! Rachael has played such an integral role at Galileo and we have enjoyed watching her grow over the years!

First celebrated in 1992, World Mental Health Day aims to raise awareness for mental health, as well as the efforts being made to support those experiencing mental health issues. Today, take a moment to practice some self-care. Meditation, coloring, breathing exercises, or calling a friend/family member are just a few ideas of mindfulness activities that can be done relatively quickly, but bring you a moment of peace.?Do you have any other suggestions? If so, let us know!

Jordan Bedolfe, our Technical Manager, has been invited to speak as a panelist at the upcoming Nextpoint On Point Conference, where Galileo will be featured as a client success story. We are incredibly proud of Jordan and so happy to have him on our team! “With a background in research statistics and environmental project management, Jordan brings a unique perspective to developing Galileo's Federal record management services for complex environmental projects. Jordan has also played a pivotal role in compiling administrative records for cases presented by the U.S. Department of Justice to the Supreme Court.” More information on the panel can be found here: https://lnkd.in/g-wqmnKR
