In the study cited in this graphic, researchers estimated that nearly 5% of patients had genetic variants known to interact with their prescribed drug. Those genetic variants affect prescribing guidance. Without pharmacogenomic testing, these patients wouldn't know. Their providers wouldn't adjust. And their medications wouldn't work the way they were expected to.
