Joining during the early adoption phase of the Lido CSM Module is a lot like getting early access to buy your favorite tomatoes at your local grocer. Or at least this is how Dmitry Gusakov likens the experience on the latest episode of the Infinite Jungle. Dmitry and I have a candid conversation about the functionality and limitations of the newest Lido Module, the Community Staking Module (CSM). The CSM is designed to allow anyone to join Lido as a node operator without having to go through a vetting process overseen by the Lido DAO. The CSM is designed to operate almost entirely autonomously from any human intervention. However, the devil is in the details. The CSM in its early adoption phase is not entirely permissionless and until the problem of MEV stealing is solved through a solution like enshrined Proposer Builder Separation the CSM does rely on the oversight of a committee of reputable individuals.
