Exciting discoveries shared at the American Society of Human Genetics annual conference by Carlos D. Bustamante on behalf of Galatea Bio Inc. during his presentation 'Enabling Precision Health at Scale with Oxford Nanopore Sequencing', including the many structural variants missed by short-read WGS in the NHLBI NIH supported Consortium on Asthma among African-ancestry Populations in the Americas (CAAPA). These discoveries - and more to come - promise to enhance genomic diversity representation and reduce health inequities.
