关于我们
The Georgia Section of Institute of Transportation Engineers (ITE) is a local chapter under the Southern District section of International ITE. ITE is an international educational and scientific association of transportation professionals who are responsible for meeting mobility and safety needs. We facilitate the application of technology and scientific principles to research, planning, functional design, implementation, operation, policy development and management for any mode of ground transportation. Through our products and services, ITE promotes professional development of our members, supports and encourages education, stimulates research, develops public awareness programs and serves as a conduit for the exchange of professional information. In 1963, a handful of ITE members living in the Atlanta area envisioned a need for a local organization to relate to the traffic engineering interests of engineers residing in the area. Ways to formally organize were discussed and, based on prevailing ITE guidelines, a statewide organization was chartered with ten founding members. Early meetings were held at Mammy’s Shanty in a small upstairs room. John Edwards was “drafted” as the first president of the Georgia Division. These early meetings formed the framework of the organization we know and love today, which boasts over 500 members statewide. Come join us!

The Georgia ITE/ASHE Winter Workshop always has a group problem, project, or game. This year it's a take off of Ticket to Ride and our team is both a cooperative and competitive group, seeking to complete routes for the overall success of the table, but also to get individual points based on secret goals. Sort of like being on a elected body!

Calling all STEM Professionals and Georgia Section ITE members - can you help students in metro ATL imagine a future as a Transportation Engineer?? Apply here to be paired up with a STEM teacher at a school near you: https://lnkd.in/gVntZhJh ScienceATL will pair you up 1:1 with a STEM teacher, but you can note in your application if you would like to present together with someone else (who will also need to apply). You can reach out to me if you have any questions about how to get involved or want some help preparing a Transportation Engineering-themed presentation.
