Today, we remember Paul Baker, a co-founder of Ohal (later Gain Theory) in 1973. Paul's early adoption of econometrics revolutionised marketing, empowering data-informed investment decisions that continue to shape the industry today. We are grateful for his legacy and send our condolences to his family.
The news today of Paul Baker's passing has deeply saddened me. He brought me to Ohal in 2006, and I quickly learned he was a visionary leader and a dedicated mentor. Paul's pioneering work in econometrics shaped Ohal, which evolved into Gain Theory, and his influence continues to resonate within the company today. The strong culture and high standards he instilled, along with his commitment to developing talent, are still evident. I, along with many others he mentored, carry forward his legacy. He was a remarkable man. His impact on econometrics, and its application within the marketing industry, together with those he guided, will never be forgotten. Rest well, Paul.
