Americans Are Thinking About Immigration All Wrong Population growth, economic growth, and income growth are not just interconnected. They are mutually reinforcing, with immigration playing a pivotal role in this positive cycle. Americans face a stark choice. We can frame immigration as a persistent threat to U.S. national security, U.S. workers, and the solidity of U.S. culture. ?Or they can take the century-long view and recognize that America’s national security, the U.S. labor force's growth, and the American greatness project all depend on immigration, as they have for 400 years. Many Americans think about immigration through this lens of scarcity.?If the economy includes a fixed number of jobs, more foreign-born workers means less work left for Americans. ?If America had a fixed number of houses, more immigrants would mean less space for Americans to live. It's important to recognize that a fixed amount of work or income limits a growing nation. ?Population, economic, and income growth are interconnected and reinforce each other. ?At the national level, immigration operates on a 'more-is-more' principle, benefiting from and contributing to these growth dynamics.? https://lnkd.in/dhgt2GHe
