This is the future of resilient pumping design. Flygt 6000 series pumps operate at efficiencies closer to clean water pumps, are capable of detecting and self-clearing clogs, and permit on-the-fly performance changes. Westchester County now has a future-proof and hardened pump installation in this important application.
Another old extended shaft style pump station is upgraded to Xylem Flygt US dry-pit submersible pumps with N-impellers and closed-loop-cooling system, no grinders or screening equipment is needed...therefore #flooding resiliency is achieved and #maintenance will be significantly reduced. These are some big boys at 250hp, delivering 2,900gpm @ 200ft of TDH each. We also added the Flygt US latest #pump #monitoring solution, MAS801, which will allow Westchester County staff to diagnose any issues within the pump before a failure and take action, no surprise #downtime. We are monitoring temperature on all three windings of the motor and the pump bearings, three dimensional vibration and leakage.
