关于我们
Futures Without Violence (FUTURES) is a national nonprofit organization leading groundbreaking educational programs, policies, and campaigns that empower individuals and organizations working to end violence against women and children around the world. Providing leadership from offices in San Francisco, Washington, D.C., and Boston, FUTURES has trained thousands of professionals and advocates--such as doctors, nurses, judges, athletic coaches, and other community influences--on improving responses to violence and abuse. The organization was a driving force behind the passage of the Violence Against Women Act of 1994—the nation’s first comprehensive federal response to the violence that plagues families and communities. Research shows that crises, from public health emergencies to natural disasters, increase risks of intimate partner violence and human trafficking, with structural inequities like housing instability and language barriers further limiting marginalized survivors’ access to care. Our upcoming Learning Collaborative will provide protocols, memoranda of understanding, and strategies to strengthen partnerships between healthcare centers and community-based organizations that support survivors. As a result of this Learning Collaborative, participants will be better able to: ?? Identify specific needs and challenges faced by survivors during emergencies and natural disasters.? ?? List three strategies to improve language access, housing stability, and other critical social drivers of health that affect patient wellbeing. ?? Identify alignment of Center for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) emergency preparedness plan guidance with IPV/HT/E.? ?? Recognize steps to improve Health Centers capacity to support patients and staff before, during, and after emergencies. We encourage all health centers and organizations to identify one staff member as the main applicant and submit one application per site. You may add multiple colleagues to registration. ???Strengthening Emergency Preparedness: Supporting Survivors of IPV, Human Trafficking and Exploitation ?? Faculty Include: Anna Marjavi, Cara Skillingstead, Elizabeth Miller, Kate Gleason-Bachman, Katie League, Kenede P., Megha Rimal ??
