Breaking news: #Kentucky is on track to become the 27th state to guarantee all high school students take a personal finance course. HB 342 sailed through the Kentucky House and Senate yesterday with unanimous votes in both chambers (89-0 and 36-0, respectively). It now heads to Gov. Beshear's desk to be signed into law. Huge thanks to HB 342 sponsor Rep. Michael Meredith for his commitment to equipping the next generation with the financial skills they need to thrive! I had a great time meeting Rep. Meredith at the National Council of Insurance Legislators (NCOIL) conference last summer in Costa Mesa, where I was part of a panel highlighting the momentum of the personal finance education movement. ?He shared with me his commitment to make this happen in #Kentucky and he clearly delivered on his promise. #Mission2030 Next Gen Personal Finance Shout out to Patrick Graboviy, the 16 year old student advocate behind HB 342. Student and teacher voices have been instrumental in more than tripling the number of states ensuring that their high school students benefit from a personal finance course. Patrick is an incredible example of how young people can make an incredible difference by engaging in the political process for an issue they care about. Amazing!
