The Future Surveyors Foundation, a 501c3 non-profit organization creates opportunity, inspiration, and support to develop a skilled and inclusive workforce in Surveying and Geospatial Engineering. In our high demand profession, there is opportunity to develop an inclusive and diverse workforce. Our foundation helps to create visibility, promotion, and support to all with a focus on the under-represented groups in the surveying profession. Along with the Women Surveyors Summit, we are expanding activities to support all backgrounds, regardless of race, gender or socioeconomic status. Reflecting on an Amazing Day at the 2024 Minority Surveyors Summit! A heartfelt thank you to our incredible co-hosts, Amanda J. Allred, PLS and David P. Acosta, PS, for bringing this event to life and the entire team for coordinating an inspiring and well-organized experience. Your hard work made this day impactful and memorable! The event started with an empowering keynote by Martha Ortiz, CPSM and Crystal Ruiz on "Leveraging Success & Value as a Minority." Each session after that added incredible insights, from David P. Acosta, PS’s journey into the history of SUE and utility engineering, to a thought-provoking panel discussion on "Empowering Minority Voices," featuring Tyler Trujillo, PLS, Leslynette Carrucini-Gallardo, LSIT, Kelli Howard, Ana Lehnert, and Dani Mladenka, SIT. I was honored to share my own story in Session 3, where I discussed "Navigating Challenges and My Path to Achievement." Connecting with all of you and exchanging experiences was truly inspiring. Thank you to everyone who attended and engaged in these discussions. Seeing so many passionate professionals come together reinforces the importance of these events.
