Our March Silver Retreat is in full swing and going great. If you are 55 or older and struggling with severe vision impairment, apply today to join our next session in June! These 5-day retreats focus on communication skills, orientation & mobility, accessible technology, low vision skills and devices, independent living skills, adjustment to vision loss, social interaction, and peer support. Applications are currently being accepted for the June Silver Retreat. Lodging and meals are included as part of the retreat experience; transportation may be available to and from the retreat. Future In Sight is working on behalf of the NH Governor's Commission on Disability to offer the NH Telecommunications Equipment Assistance Program (NH-TEAP) to residents of NH with vision loss, hearing loss, and challenges to speech and mobility. This program helps these individuals acquire an accessible landline OR mobile phone plus provides training on how to access emergency services. Phones are available at up to a 50% discount to individuals who qualify for the program based on the disabilities mentioned above. In some cases, the cost of the phone may be fully covered.
