Our young people spent an engaging evening learning the do's and don'ts of resume writing while receiving valuable hands-on help to build or refine their work history. Shout out to Toast and 826 Boston for providing professional development that works inside and outside the kitchen!

Three years ago, we began planning for the succession of Toni Elka, our beloved Founder and Executive Director of nearly 17 years. Today, we're thrilled to announce that Mark DaCruz will be stepping into this role on December 2! Mark has been a dedicated leader in Boston's youth development field since 2008. His impressive journey began in direct service to young people, progressed to program director, and culminated in executive leadership as Chief External Affairs Officer at West End House. A true advocate for youth, Mark is a natural relationship-builder and a collaborative leader who listens deeply. Toni will remain on board as a Senior Advisor through this transition. We are incredibly proud of what we’ve achieved so far and are energized for the future. As we move into this new chapter, we remain committed to empowering our city’s young people with the essential skills to claim their bright futures. Please join us in welcoming Mark and celebrating this exciting new beginning!

On Monday, we celebrated with fellow youth-serving organizations from all over Boston at the #futureBOS Partnership Appreciation Event. ?? We met new friends and connected with longtime partners from City Hall, like the Mayor's Office of Black Male Advancement. The event was an energizing space to bring together this impactful network of youth employers. Of course, we couldn’t come empty-handed! The crowd ate up all of the chocolate chip cookies provided by our team. We are so grateful for opportunities and support from the Office of Youth Employment and Advancement that allow us to serve our young people in community. Thank you to Allison Vernerey and her amazing team for all their hard work!
