Just had this conversation with a hiring leader/executive. Two strong candidates: one who has a better resume, the other who is a better communicator. So....Resume vs. Communication: Who Would You Hire? Hiring decisions aren’t always straightforward. Imagine you were in this scenario: ?? Candidate A – An impressive resume, packed with relevant experience, skills, and achievements. ?? Candidate B – A strong communicator who may have less experience but can clearly articulate ideas, collaborate effectively, and adapt quickly. Who gets the job? It’s tempting to lean on the resume—after all, experience matters. But in today’s workplace, communication is often the game-changer. A candidate who can listen, influence, and connect with teams can sometimes outperform the one with the "perfect" qualifications on paper. Of course, the best-case scenario is both! But if you had to choose, which would you prioritize: the stronger resume or the stronger communicator? And why? ?? (I spoke on a panel about this very thing in 2024 and will share my thoughts on this after seeing some feedback/thoughts/opinions from you - looking forward to sharing the feedback with the Hiring Executive) #hiring #talentacquisition #recruitment #leadership
