Brent Lindberg and Jim Clark had a great time chatting with Kate Bertrand Connolly at Packaging Digest about user-centric packaging design—especially when it comes to making packaging more accessible for all consumers. Our strategic partnership with C+R Research helps take our packaging development to the next level thanks to their cutting edge insights and technology. Big shout out to Laura Gómez Westraad for adding her expertise to the conversation! Refill packaging walks a fine line—light on materials, heavy on function. Flexible packaging cuts down on waste, but it often flops under pressure when it comes to dispensing. Leave it to Method to scrub up a better solution—adding rigidity and stability to keep things upright, mess-free, and ready to pour. Watch as Brent breaks down the structure and unpacks how this clever design really cleans up the competition. #FlexiblePackaging #RefillPackaging #PackagingInnovation

There’s a forecast for greener dunnage ahead. We got wind of WeatherFlow-Tempest, Inc. trading petroleum-based foam for Cruz Foam’s compostable, biodegradable alternative. Launching in June, this switch ditches single-use plastic while keeping the same shock absorption and durability—without increasing costs. Sustainable and practical? Now that’s a forecast we like. What other protective packaging materials deserve a more sustainable swap? #SustainablePackaging #FoamAlternatives #eCommerce #Compostable

Looks like this store did some housekeeping—some refillable and concentrate cleaning products have landed in the clearance aisle. It begs the question: are consumers truly on board with the refill-and-concentrate model? From a supply chain and sustainability perspective, the benefits stack up. Smaller concentrate bottles mean reduced material use, lower shipping weight, and more efficient shelf space. But if the math adds up, why aren’t these flying off the shelves? Is it the struggle of habit change, pricing, or something else at play? Let’s clean up the debate—what do you think? #RefillPackaging #Concentrates #RetailPackaging

L'Oréal found a way to literally break the ice with influencers for their latest launch. They ditched the usual setup box and went for something cooler — actual ice. The best part, no packaging waste left behind, just a puddle where the package used to be. Now that’s a chill way to launch a product. Seen any other influencer packaging that breaks the mold—literally or figuratively? #PackagingInnovation #SustainableDesign #UnboxingExperience #InfluencerPackaging

Get ready to wet your whistle! Today on Unpacked, we’re playing a drinking game—minus the hangover! Brent went all out and ordered three different drinks (because he really knows how to party) to run LCAs using Trayak’s EcoImpact-Compass tool to find out which bottle material has the highest and lowest environmental impact. Which bottle material is the greenest of them all? Comment your guess below! #LifyCycleAnalysis #EnviornmentalImpact #Packaging #Circular #Material

Big brands are brewing up a sustainable shift! A few months ago, Starbucks, PepsiCo, and The Coca-Cola Company poured their efforts into a 12-week trial, making reusable cups the default option at over 30 local restaurants. The result? A steaming-hot 51% return rate—well above the 40-50% break-even point needed to spill some serious environmental benefits over single-use cups. Over 220,000 cups made their way back to the return bins. This success proves that city-wide reuse programs aren’t just a half-full cup dream—they’re the full package for reducing waste and developing sustainable habits. What do you think, is this the future of restaurant beverages? Read more about it here: https://lnkd.in/ePRB5erG #ReusablePackaging #ReturnablePackaging #Circular

Sapporo’s steel can is built different—literally. By choosing steel over aluminum, they redefined beer packaging, breaking away from the ordinary. We were drawn in by the tumbler glass shape, instead of sticking with stock packaging, they went custom to create something uniquely their own. Older versions even had removable lids to mimic the feel of drinking straight from a frosty pint. What do you think—a bold move or just extra metal? #CustomPackaging #BeerPackaging #BottomsUp #Sapporo

Looks like there are more packaging designers out there than we thought—they just don’t know it yet! Posts like these remind us why we love the internet. Creative thinking like this reminds us why we love what we do. Post Credit from Instagram: @iamthirtyaf #PackagingDesign #PackagingHumor

Packaging that goes the extra mile always catches our eye—but it’s not just about looks. Thoughtful extras can turn everyday products into something worth showing off. Brent takes a closer look at Welly Health PBC, a brand that knows how to make a simple product feel special. From a structure that practically pulls itself off the shelf to printed interior details that put the user experience first, every layer of their packaging is designed with intention. Who else is nailing the details and making packaging part of the experience? #ReusablePackaging #UserExperience #PackagingDesign #Unboxing
