Where currents collide! This is Fuse’s custom wire array implosion device. When high currents flow through these ultra thin wires (less than 25um, thinner than a human hair), we create plasma that releases radiation in the form of x-rays. We then analyze the radiation and compression within the device, which helps us design the optimal infrastructure for fusion implosion targets. It's all part of the path to making commercial fusion a reality!

Fuse is on a mission to accelerate the world's transition to fusion energy
关于我们
Fuse is on a mission to accelerate the world's transition to fusion energy while safeguarding humankind. Since 2019, we've built 3 functioning and record-breaking pulsed power fusion machines, with dual applications: commercial power generation (long term), and supporting the US and Allies' national security through radiation effects testing capabilities (immediate term). TITAN, our latest machine, is the world's first high-power (1TW) Impedance Matched Marx Generator, with experimental results peer-reviewed and published in Nature Scientific Reports: https://www.nature.com/articles/s41598-024-67774-4 TITAN is the building block of our technology roadmap, leading to fusion pilot plant demonstration with APEIRON I. CEO JC B. and board member Lisa Gordon-Hagerty, former Administrator of the National Nuclear Security Administration (NNSA), recently discussed how to advance fusion energy and enhance national security with Tennessee Representative Chuck Fleischmann. As Chairman of the House Appropriations Energy and Water Development Subcommittee and Co-Chair of the House Fusion Caucus, Rep. Fleischmann has been a steadfast leader in modernizing America’s nuclear infrastructure and paving the way for energy prosperity. Fuse's pathway to fusion not only promises clean, abundant energy but also addresses critical national security challenges.

Fuse's launch party wasn’t just an event—it was a glimpse into the future. Huge thanks to Serene and Jaron Lanier for their unforgettable performance with the robot orchestra and to WIRED magazine for capturing the magic of our vault opening. To quote Jaron's parting words that evening: “Thank you so much for bringing art into a facility motivated by national security, I said. In addition to defending life, we must make life worth defending.”
