?REMINDER!! On March 31, Dr. Shaniece Criss and Dr. Jessica Hennessey will hold a CLP debate on whether the U.S. should depart from the World Health Organization. Students will have an opportunity to collect facts, evaluate, and conduct short debates at the individual level before debriefing as a group. This discussion will challenge students to consider conflicting opinions in order to promote a more complex understanding of matters and help students practice constructive engagement across differences. Join Dr. Shaniece Criss, director of the M.A. in Advocacy and Social Policy graduate program, and Dr. Jessica Hennessey from the Furman Economics Department for a CLP in which participants will debate whether the U.S. should depart from the World Health Organization. On March 31, from 5:00 to 6:00 p.m., speakers will frame the pro and con economic and public health arguments, and students will have an opportunity to collect facts, evaluate, and conduct short debates at the individual level before debriefing as a group. The WHO Debate will challenge students to consider conflicting opinions to promote a more complex understanding of matters and facilitate constructive engagement across differences.
