Native and Indigenous communities suffer the worst climate impacts. But they only receive a sliver of philanthropic dollars. As we observe Thanksgiving in the U.S., let's also reflect on the original inhabitants of this land -- and the urgent need to support Native-led and Native-serving organizations. Our gratitude to Joshua Arce of Partnership With Native Americans, who shared opportunities for philanthropic collaboration and partnership during TFN's fall PPREP gathering, for taking part in this video. Partnership With Native Americans is committed to championing hope for a brighter future for Native Americans, including providing aid and services for Native communities with the highest need in the U.S. Thanks as well to fellow PPREP cohort members Taylor Crowl of the Montana Community Foundation and Keaton Van Sickle of the Oklahoma City Community Foundation. They are part of TFN's most recent PREPP -- or Philanthropic Preparedness, Resiliency and Emergency Partnership -- learning cohort. 关于我们
The Funders’ Network (TFN) exists to inspire, strengthen and expand funding and philanthropic leadership that yield environmentally sustainable, socially equitable and economically prosperous regions and communities. Our vision is that the Funders’ Network will be the leading resource in philanthropy for interdisciplinary and transformative thinking and action that gives all people the opportunity to live in more environmentally sustainable, socially equitable and economically prosperous regions and communities. TFN believes that collaboration is where real change takes root. When funders decide to act, lead, and advance an agenda together, entire regions and policies can be transformed. We staff funder working groups by providing support to help advance shared learning, develop best practices, create policy agendas, support policy reforms, and improve outcomes on issues and in places. While each issue- or place-based funder working group has its own priority agenda and work plan, the working groups use similar models and tactics for raising funder awareness, building funder knowledge and capacity, and facilitating impact and action. These tools and approaches include: -Funder outreach and education -Convening and networking -Research and analysis -Supporting regional and place-based practice -Pooled funds and investments -Policy reform In addition to the working groups currently staffed by the Network, we also provide strategic support and services to other place-based and regional funder collaboratives, such as the Great Communities Collaborative in the Bay Area, the Central Corridor Funders Collaborative in the Twin Cities, and an emerging Intermountain West Funder Network.

"You don't fight misinformation and hatred with facts. You fight it with community and solidarity." ???? This week, I've been in (the unexpectedly COLD!) St. Louis for the incredible #FacingRace conference. So much learning, so many moments to reflect on equity and justice, so much love! Super duper grateful to The Funders Network for giving me the chance to be here and grow on my journey toward justice. Can't wait to use what I've learned in this essential work!

Today I had the pleasure of joining some incredible leaders at “Confluence: Water Jobs and Our Climate Future” hosted by The Funders Network, Spring Point Partners, and the William Penn Foundation. And I was joined by Nathan Boon to lead a discussion on how water fits in the broader climate & jobs ecosystem. Question: what is a “green job” to you? #climatejustice #economicjustice #climatejobs #greenjobs #waterjobs

Who will build our climate future? ?? ?? Historic federal investments in water infrastructure means an increased need for workers – just as waves of experienced employees are retiring. TFN's Urban Water Funders joined Spring Point Partners, William Penn Foundation and other workforce leaders in Philadelphia to explore the opportunities at hand to bring high-quality jobs into communities that will help create an equitable, sustainable water and climate future ??? We're so grateful to our hosts Spring Point Partners and William Penn Foundation for making this gathering a success ???? And a special shoutout to Fairmount Water Works for taking us on a wonderful tour of the Fairmount facility and sharing the enlightening history of some of the country's first water infrastructure ?? #ClimateResilience #WaterWorkforce #Philanthropy

Happy to be part of today’s disaster response and recovery training in Browerville! It’s inspiring sharing the room and learning in community with civic leaders and emergency managers from Todd County, WADENA COUNTY, Morrison County and Ottertail County. Together we support our region by helping communities in the aftermath of unforeseen disasters. When generous folks want to help out after a disaster, local units of government don’t generally have the capacity to accept and manage donations; they’re busy making sure people are safe and getting critical services back up and running. This is where we come in. We provide the local coalition building, accountability, and avenue for accepting tax-deductible donations to aid in disaster recovery. Initiative Foundation partners with communities to help them help each other. We are grateful for the support of The Funders Network which enabled us to provide this training and for all who took the time to learn with us! #community #disaster #philanthropy #communityfoundation #minnesota #centralminnesota #rural

This week has been one filled with heartbreak, fear and righteous anger. But it has also been a time of strengthened resolve??? As we head into the weekend, take time to care for yourselves — connect with nature, spend time with loved ones and recharge. We need to stay strong and centered. The path ahead is difficult but we will walk it together. In the meantime, TFN has created a post-election resource page of upcoming webinars, resources and organization statements??? https://bit.ly/40AlJoa
